Keep losing heart rate monitoring

Evening all, I had a few problems, but all issues have been sorted by the community exept I now have a new issue with the heart rate montor. I am wearing it correctly and 95% of the time it is monitoring but occasionally for 10seconds to about 30 seconds it stops monitoring and the tracker shows a heart with 2 dashes then it will come back on. I am usually in the middle of my exercising, and I know the monitor isn't moving on my arm. First question is why does it go off ? and the second is while it is showing the heart with 2 dashes is it stilll monitoring?

Thanks folks hope you can help

It's great to see that you've visited the Fitbit Community @Steveyfd. Due to the tracker's fit, it might have difficulty finding a signal. For example, wearing your band tightly may constrict blood flow in your wrist and affect the signal. If your Fitbit Charge 2 doesn't find signal it wouldn't be able to monitor your heart rate during that time and will display 2 dashes. I would recommend taking a look at this article which provides information about what impacts your heart rate readings.

Additionally, if you experience this situation constantly you can follow this workaround that might get you back on track:

- Go to the online Dashboard > Settings > Devices > Heart Rate

- Turn Off your HR and force sync by following @WendyB's instructions.

- Turn it on Auto and force sync,

- Finally place it On and force sync.

Let me know how it goes. Catch you later. Smiley Happy

I've tried everything listed.. Even reset my fit bit.. My heart monitor is still not working.. I've only had this  2 weeks.. Is it looking like I've got a faulty one? Would I take it back to Argos or do I have to send it off somewhere.. Does anyone know please.. Thank you

I am sure you can call and talk to the Fitbit company and they will talk to you about returning it.

Yesterday my fit bit didnt track my workout at all and I swear i hit the start button, and then today at the gym it lost my heart rate for some of my workout and now it looks like I didnt work as hard as I actually did.

I restarted it yesterday after that happened with my workout. And I was reading the forum and it says that sometimes if you are moving your arm alot or tensing it, it will do that but i never had that problem with my other one. And it's like, wtf, I'm not going to sit there and worry about keeping my arm loose when I'm in the middle of a hardcore cardio session!
