What do you consider the lifespan of a Fitbit Charge HR or Fitbit Charge 2? I purchased a Fitbit Charge HR and it lasted 1-1/2 years. I think they should hold up better than that. Is this something that you have to plan of buying a new one yearly? I also think the Customer Service has the attitude that it is just too bad...so sad. That is very poor. They cost too much to fall apart that fast. A cheap Timex watch lasts for years and years.

Actually @Jameskalvin this was a decision made years ago.
Yes other companies offer a repair service, and charge almost the price, if not more, for the repair, and you get your unit back, with all data wiped.
Fitbit, with a discount offers a new unit of your choice. The decision is based on cost of which is cheaper and less time to implement.
There are several third parties that will change batteries and screens.

My app works fine. It continues to state my battery is less than 5%. Even after being on the charger for a week. I have cleaned the watch several time bought a new charger. Nothing is working.

If the screen doesn’t crack then you might get two years out of it I’ve had two and one replacement all three suffered screen cracking

I purchased my Fitbit charge 2 in March 2017, use day and night, so over 3 years. It has a crack on the screen but is still fully operating. Except it gives me rashes occasionally, I don't have anything to complain about. I will change to the latest generation after this one. But I think there is still another year to go.

I bought a new Charge 2 around 4 months ago (I didn't really want to spend the money on a Charge 3, which was almost double the price new at the time) so I'm skeptical about this. My previous fitbit - the Alta HR - lasted about 10 months before it started playing up to the point it was unusable. I would buy the newest model available, if I were you, as that's probably going to last you a year or two more. If I had thought about that then I would have probably gone for the Inspire HR/Charge 3. But, for now, I'm loving my Charge 2, so let's see how long it lasts.
I agree - I had an awful experience with customer services when my Alta HR started showing problems. They didn't listen to me and ended up refusing to issue me a replacement, despite telling me they would. They really need to sort this out.

My charge 2 just suddenly died (battery) after 3 years. All they offered was 25% discount on next purchase. Do they ever offer more?

They are pretty good at offering a replacement within the first year. After that they typically offer 25% off a replacement. I have not seen anything better than that. I occasionally see 50% of select models at Best Buy, Macy's or Target. You might check July 4th sales.

Thank you. I was also offered 40% off Versa Lite but only 1 woman’s color. I ended up buying a new Versa 2 at 25% off. Step up from Charge 2. Hopefully I get more than 3 yrs life out of it.

Using it for about 2 years and 5 months and all looks fine. There is a crack on the dial however, but no issues otherwise.

Mine has lasted for going on 4 years and that sucker has been through the ringer. My one before that, the original fitbit lasted for about 1.5 years. I am very impressed with the charge 2 HR.

I bought my first Fitbit in Sep of 2017 and it was the Charge 2. It’s still going strong today. It has a few scratches here and there, but still works fine after almost 4 years.
