The lights underneath light up, are there only two lights that light up? The other little ones do not right? They are only for charging? Also for those two lights in the center underneath to light up does the heart rate need to be on for them to light? Also during sleep does the heart rate have to be on? Thank you, Cindy

Let me share with you that the heart rate sensor green lights are just the two of them that are flashing, their are beside a little square. The little ones, which are three of them are just for charging just as you stated. Also, the heart rate sensor green lights need to be on in order to measure your heart rate data because when your heart beats, your capillaries expand and contract based on blood volume changes. PurePulse LEDs (light-emitting diodes) on your Fitbit device reflect onto the skin to detect blood volume changes, and finely-tuned algorithms are applied to measure heart rate automatically and continuously.

I'd like to let you know that your Charge 2 track your sleep in a detailed way, which in this case this feature is called Sleep Stages. Such feature uses heart rate information in order to provide you sleep graphs with more details. To learn more about it please check: What should I know about sleep stages?

Let me know if you have any additional questions.
