Lines across Charge 3 screen- then black screen

My Fitbit Charge 3 developed horizontal blurred lines across the screen. The next day it started vibrating but had no screen display. I have tried the suggested fix - connecting it to the computer and holding the button down for 15 seconds, but there is no smiley face and still a black screen. This is extremely disappointing as I have had 4 different Garmin watches over the past 20 years and never had a functional problem - would appreciate advice please
