This last month, my fitbit charge 3 special edition, has had black horizontal lines going through it. At first, I thought it was because it was dieing. So I charged it but the issue stayed. I also tried restarting it and that did not help either. I've also tried letting it die and charging it back up but nothing is working.

Same here.
My Charge 3 for well over a month now, has lines going through it.
I changed and tried different watch faces.
The bolder ones, the lines are very obvious.
So I have it set to one where the lines are clearly there, but not too bad.
I have reset the watch itself multiple times.
Nothing.
I have put the watch on the charger and did multiple resets that way.
Nothing.
And now, I notice I have to tap, tap, tap a few times to get the face to come on.
So makes me wonder if the battery is going and no amount of 'reset' is going to fix it.
ETA: and yes, I turned blue tooth off/on several times

Me too and it appears to be a common problem and they do not do anything about it unless you're under warranty. Then it appears the device will not hold a charge.
