Hi, @Suebee22!

To track, first, go into your app and make sure that spinning is one of your selected activities. Click on the image of the tracker to open the device menu. Scroll down to the bottom and select "exercise shortcuts." In there, you can remove one if necessary and then add spinning to your list. Once your tracker syncs again, this will be on the list of exercises you can select from the track exercise screen on your tracker.

Then, on your tracker, switch to the screen for tracking exercises and tap on the screen to cycle them through, just like you do to see your statistics. You can then hold the button to start/stop your tracking.

Where does it let you chose selected activities?  I've got the app, but don't see that option!

Best Answer

@Shortbread as @MakMak saus, it is called spinning.

Tap on the picture of your tracker, tap again, then go down to exercise shortcuts

The stationary bike I ride at the gym is computerized (by a company called Expresso). The results automatically synch to my MyFitnessPal account. Then MFP synchs to my Fitbit account, so I get credit for it.

If I use the "Spinning" mode on my Charge 2 during the session, will the calories get double counted, or will my Fitbit account realize that it is one and the same?

Although I like burning calories, I don't want to "cheat". I'd rather have an accurate result of calories in and out at the end of the day.

Am i an idiot? I seriously can't find the "exercise shortcuts" in my app... I'm going in through the dashboard because one time my phone restarted and deleted the widget.  I just have the app shortcut...couldn't find the widget again!

Does this apply to the Charge HR too?
I don't have the 'exercise shortcut' option – or can't find it!

It took me a long time to find it! When I'm in the app, on the new dashboard version with the tiles, there's a little icon at the top right above my step counter. It shows my fit bit and the battery level. If i click on that and scroll down, then exercise shortcuts is at the bottom of that list. Hope this helps!

@sazzybee no the Charge HR is different. You want to hold the button down, do your exercise, then hold it down at the end. After you sync, it will be labled as a workout.  Pull up this record, tap the pencil and relable it. Make sure you tap on the entry in the drop down menu.

I'm not following this explanation for the HR.  Where do I find this "workout" label?  I'm confused.

I put the spinning in and it didn't register on the charge 2 for the stationary bike.  I wish they would give more choices for exercises to include the machines at the gym.  Also, my stairs hardly ever register either.

Me either, where is it?

Can you do it on the flex? As I can't find it via any of the in instructions here.

Hi, @Dibley1973! The Flex is pretty ineffective at tracking spinning, since it doesn't have a heart rate monitor. The best you can probably do is create a manual activity after the fact.
