This does not work! I just biked on a Nordic track recumbent bike 5 miles in 40 minutes. It recorded 11 active minutes and 28 steps. There must be a better way!

Thank you! I've recently broken my leg and have had surgery to put a rod in and the exercise bike is the way to go as far as physio is concerned. I've also put myself forward for a race at your own pace thing during October and am being allowed to count my miles on the stationery bike considering my situation. This has been of great help! Thanks again!

I found the list of exercises for my Ionic but spinning isn't an option. Is there a way to add it? Is there another option that works for stationary bikes?

Sure there is @Sahmat let's go to fitbit's interactive and searchable help docs

@Grebur1 how many steps sis you walk while sitting on the exercise bike?
In the ideal world the step count should be zero.

I use the spininning exercise when ridding my exercise bike. It does count steps, as it should, but I havent counted how many. A exercise bike option would be better because more people use them than spin.

I have also selected Spinning while riding my exercise bike but the number of calories burned and distance riden in the app was much lower then the bike computed.

While in a stationary bike, any steps recorded would be from movements of the arm, not the feet, and no relation to actual walking steps that the user did not do while sitting on a stationary seat.
As for the bikes reported distance, these are virtual not actual distance based on the spinning of a wheel. Without moving and no ability to use GPS Fitbit has no idea of the imaginary distance the user traveled.

So I was able to add the spinning but I can not figure out how to use it...

I have the FitBit AltaHR. Is there a way to track exercise on my stationary bike on the app. I don’t have the “exercise shortcuts” option on my app.

@Grebur1which spinning app on your phone do you have? The Fitbit app doesn't have a spinning mode, and as we know the Alta doesn't have any manual modes .

I couldn’t find “exercise options” anywhere, either! I wonder if that doesn’t apply to the Versa.
