Logging "motorcycle" to correct false step counting does not work anymore.

Hi,

Since the last Fitbit app update, the method to correct false step counted while riding a motorcycle does not work anymore. Is there another workaround to offset the extra steps counted?

Thank you

@MenfroMars It's great to see that you've visited the Fitbit Community!

Let me help you negating your steps counted when you were on your motorcycle. Start by logging out from the app, restart your phone and log back in. After this try logging a Driving activity (not motorcycle) to negate the steps.

Let me know how it goes.

Hi @AlvaroFitbit ,

Thank you for your reply. I just tried the method you offered but it did not work. The logged activities always show nothing in the content. But the auto-detected outdoor bike activity (the motorcycle riding) did show the activity information. Is there another solution to deal with this?

Hi @AlvaroFitbit ,

Here's some information regarding the driving log issue I just figured out.

The time of the manually logged activities in Fitbit app will be registered in Greenwich standard time on the server regardless of the time zone setting in the app. This should be the reason that the logged driving activity could not obtain proper information to negate the extra steps. Please pass this information to your engineering team and solve it at your earliest convenience.

The temporary solution for this is to log driving activities on the website and then they will get the correct information.

Is this time zone thing why my Fitbit is not showing the correct time for sync? When I look at the specifics on the app for my Charge 2 it shows the last sync was at 1:55 PM even though it just synced at 8:55 PM. I logged out of the app, rebooted my phone and went back into the app. It had the right time for the last sync for a few minutes then went back to being 7 hours off.  I have also had exercise showing up 7 hours off, saying I walk at 4 am or some other unlikely time. When I try to manually add some exercise to the log it does not register to the correct time.  Oh yes, I just looked at the heart rate record and saw my fitbit registered a heart rate of 189 a few minutes ago, while my fitbit was charging, not even on my wrist!! This has just been going on since the last update to the app.  My Fitbit showed a dot for my 250 steps one hour today but it did not ever appear on the app.
