Did you mean:

Lost Charge 2 AGAIN it fell off my wrist AGAIN

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have searched posting and can see there are lots of posts for my problem but...

(a) is there any way to bring this problem to the attention of “Fitbit” so they can work on a solution?

(b) Does anyone have a suggestion of which Fitbit to buy which doesn’t fall off your wrist but does track sleep?

My problem is that...

I lost my Fitbit charge 2 on November 27th it simply fell off my wrist. I had only had it a few months so I wasn’t happy at all.

I decided to  buy another within a week of loosing it and an additional strap which I was rather annoyed to have to do.

Why am I writing this... you’ve guessed I have now lost my brand new replacement charge 2, so I’m very upset and cross that didn’t learn from my first mistake!

Unfortunately both times I have not found my fit bit so I have paid for 2 X Charge 2 Fit Bits and a useless extra stap within 6 weeks!

Now I don’t know what to do . I want another Fitbit but really can’t risk spending out if  it is going to happen again! Also I think Fitbit needs to address the problem and stop selling the Charge 2 until they solve this strap problem.

First, the Charge 2 has been replaced by the Charge 3 and Fitbit stopped selling the Charge 2 several months ago.

When you say they fell off your wrist, what seemed to fail? Was it the clasp or does it appear that the band detached from the tracker? That is usually because the pins of the strap are not fully seated in the tracker or something snags on the pin and it comes out of the tracker. While it does happen, it is not that common. It might appear so based on the posts you will find here but people are only reporting problems here. There are literally thousand of these sold where there are no issues.

Not sure how to advise you here. My wife had the Charge 2 and now has the Charge 3 and has not had any issues. I bought her an inexpensive leather band for the Charge 2 on Amazon and I made sure the pins were fully seated when in put the band on.

Thank you for your reply. I bought my Charge 2 from Amazon a few weeks ago in mid December so Amazon are still selling the Charge 2.

I used the other Fitbit wrist band which I bought at the same time. I did this to avoid the same thing happening as my first one fell off with the original band.

The problem has been (with both) that one side of the band detaches itself from the tracker .

I can only think that Amazon must have had a batch with this fault but it is rather annoying and obviously has been an expensive waste of money for me.

Thank you for your help perhaps I will consider a Charge 3 in the future if this problem is not replicated in the Charge 3.

Sounds like it is the wearer and not the maker?

Sorry, no advice, but I feel your pain. I've had mine since early October, and I had no problem for about the first month, now it's constant, not lost it yet, but it won't be long. It's definitely a fault with the clasp of the fitbit, and nothing to do with the strap, oh, and certainly nothing to do with the wearer (...idiot troll).

Please don’t be rude Reginarol . I am asking the community for advice not insults... why on earth would I deliberately  lose 2 fitbits!

Thank you Spanna 33 for your reply this is the first time I have ever posted and I’m not too comfortable telling my story. It is very hurtful that someone would criticize me personally and it was very nice to see your kind reply.

Thank you, I think because it happened with both the original strap and also with the extra strap I purchased that you are right , it must be the clasp on the Fitbit not the strap.

I am experiencing the same problem with the wristband coming off. I’m not wearing mine daily for fear of losing it. From the comments, it seems like the only solution is to purchase another Fitbit with the possibility of the same thing happening again. Has anyone ever received a replacement Fitbit?

Sorry to hear you are also experiencing this problem with the strap opening and the Fitbit falling .I'm hoping that Fitbit might solve this problem soon unfortunately it doesn't help us now .

I don’t know how I make an additional comment to you all on my original message but I wanted you to know that I  contacted Fitbit and Amazon about this problem.

Fitbit sent generic links to “ finding my fit bit” which would have only been useful if I had lost it in the house and the battery had charge HOWEVER Amazon has been over and beyond generous and helpful. I would definitely recommend their after care service in this matter.

I haven't heard of any such issues and I have a collection of bands that I bought of Amazon for mine. I know sometimes I have to double check that they click and properly latch. Sorry, but I think you just need to check that it did properly latch. Also, given that you admit to buying another band from Amazon, I think Fitbit will say that voided any warrenty as far as your issue.

Thank you for your reply.

I am glad to say that Amazon were happy to refund . I didn’t really expect this and feel confident to purchase from them in the future.

I haven’t had a reply from Fitbit, it was more to warn them that this is a real issue. I think if somebody has one fall off they think perhaps they are at fault but replaced it with the same and it happens again it becomes clear that it is a fault with the strap adjoining the actual Fitbit. Off course the second time around I was obsessive with checking it was fastened securely!

I haven’t heard whether Fitbit Charge 3 has solved this issue so I am very nervous to purchase now!

I hope it has helped others in the Fitbit community to highlight a problem that can occur in the Fitbit Charge 2.

Buying a replacement strap is not going to affect the warranty. The original strap, and the replacement do not connect properly, it is clearly a problem with the actual device, not the strap, and certainly not myself, I can count to 10 and everything!

I was a 1st time Fitbit user and just lost a Charge 2 I’ve had about 9 months.  Original band was never replaced. Fell off while raking leaves.  I won’t waste money getting another.

I wish that were the case for mine. Even after having it on for days it'll unexpectedly fall off. The strap separates from the fitbit where the pins connect. Fortunately have been able to find it every time.

I also had this issue with my Charge 2 a couple of times - never actually lost it, thankfully it came undone within clothing both times and I felt it release. The first time I assumed that it must be “operator error” and the strap was not latched on properly - when refixing I made absolutely certain that it clicked into place and was latched in - a few weeks later it did the same thing again.
I subsequently bought a dirt-cheap third party eBay strap and never had the issue again, later replaced with one of the third party metal straps and again, that was absolutely fine - it was only the original FitBit strap that gave me a problem.
