Lost Thousands of Step Data?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I've hit my Steps goal every month this year, now suddenly the Step totals have diminished on my app?

Thousands of logged Steps have suddenly vanished, and there's no Dashboard online to prove that I accumulated these totals.

What is going on? I tried clearing the Cache, logging out, resetting... Nothing works. How do I get these Steps back? It's very demotivating to see the 2024 total so low when I've worked so hard

Me too.  From year 2020 to present, I am missing thousands of steps.  Years 2014 - 2019 are still accurate.  I have a Charge 4, but this appears to be universal problem after app upgrade and conversion to Google.

Hi Stevie,

That's truly appalling, gutted to hear you're going through similar.

You know, I wouldn't feel so bad if I had the peace of mind of viewing the results via the Online Dashboard ~ that way I'd be reassured that it's merely an app syncing error.

However, as of now, I have zero proof that the accurate Step data even exists, and no way of knowing if it's been lost forever. Concerning.

Thanks for the reply (and the validation).

The same has happened to me. I started to work towards a personal best in March, and to motivate myself, I wrote all my daily steps also in a paper calendar. Through those numbers I can confirm 106k steps have disappeared from 2024!! This is completely unacceptable, but I have little faith that it will be fixed, as the problem with the disappeared exercises has not been fixed either and that has been happening for months... very sad to see this after having been a loyal customer for years.

This is interesting.  The yearly totals are correcting themselves today after we talked.  Looks like the data is restored.  Going to record today on a spreadsheet in case they disappear again...

I'm having the same issue.  My steps data for much of the year is missing.  This costs me money since my steps data earns me cash with my health insurance carrier.  Any idea how to call Fitbit?

Well, it happened again today...  Thousands of steps disappeared again!  Anybody else?

That never happened for me, I'm still thousands below my annual target despite exceeding last year's totals. Truly frustrating, I did give up on this because it was so annoying,

If Google Fitbit is listening, the inaccurate steps missing starts in May 2020 to present.  Must be your server.  Please update.  I am on Android and the current version 4.32.  Have restarted the tracker, uninstalled and reinstalled the Fitbit App multiple times...
