After just one month, I lost my Fitbit charge 2. Is there a way to check by the gps to see where it might be?
Thanks!

I'm happy to reply that I found it! Thanks to everyone's guidance on this thread! I used the free "find my fit bit" app which locates it via Bluetooth. First I had to go into my settings, Bluetooth, and disable my Fitbit from my phone. After that, the app was able to track it more easily. I was able to locate it with in just a few minutes. For anyone looking at this thread for advice, you don't need to pay money for a more expensive app . The free one works fine as long as you remove your fit bit from your Bluetooth settings.

Sorry for your loss. There’s no GPS in a Charge 2 (the Surge is the only model that has built-in GPS). There’s Bluetooth, but its range is very limited, so it could only be used if you’ve misplaced it at home.

The watch-like band of the Charge 2 makes it really difficult to lose it when wearing it. How did that happen?

If you have an idea where it was lost, you could see if it syncs. Now download a fitbit tracking app.. They need to be able to communicate with tracker and will tell you if your getting closer.

It does sync and tells me how much battery life is left...does this mean that it's somewhere close by?!?!? That would make me happy bc at least if it's lost in my house or car that it will turn up after more searching. Thanks for your reply!

Thank you. Yes, there is good chance I misplaced it at home. How can you use the Bluetooth to find it. It does sync and tells me how much battery life there is left. Does this mean it's close?
I took it off in my car bc I was wearing a jacket it wasn't comfortable with and I set it down in my car...I have three young kids, need I say less? Anyway, I wasn't sure if it fell out of the car somewhere in our travels or if it's hidden somewhere is the car or if someone brought it in the house. Hoping there is a way I can find out at least if it's close to home! Thanks!

@Sls918 Welcome to our Community! Sorry to hear that you lost your Fitbit Charge 2. Adding to what @Rich_Laue and @Dominique have said there are some apps that will detect the bluetooth signal of your tracker. For iOS you can use the LightBlue app and for Android you can use Bluetooth Finder. Also check the last time your tracker synced, it may give you an idea of where you were at the time it came loose. Check your car, it is quite common losing the tracker inside your tracker and not noticing while you are driving. There are some additional suggestion in our help site.

I was writing my post while you replied so I will add that your tracker will sync with your phone or computer at a distance of 20 ft so it does mean that your tracker is nearby. I have seen cases in which the tracker is in the front yard as it could be dropped when you got out of the car. Use your phone and see where do you loose the signal and where do you get it so you can pinpoint the location. Also it happens a lot that if you were carrying bags, backpack or something like that, that your tracker may be inside it.

Let me know how it goes!

That's great news! I am trying to tracker app now, but don't know if it has enough battery life to find it. At least I know now that it's close by and not in the target parking lot! I will keep searching. Thanks for your help!

Thank you so much! I used the free find my Fitbit app and was able to locate it via Bluetooth signal. To get it to work properly, I had to go into my settings, then Bluetoot, then remove my device. Only then would the app pick up the signal. Once I did that I would I found it within a few minutes. So thankful! Thanks so much for your help!

I stoped wearing my Fitbit Charge a few months ago as I bought an Apple Watch. Last time I saw it I was in my house, now I have come to want it again due to all my friends getting one. I have searched high and low and I can't find it anywhere. I'm guessing that the battery will have died. It's not connecting or appearing on my Bluetooth settings. I'm starting to feel like I may have thrown it away. 😅 Is there any other way of tracking it's current location. I have tried using the app you suggested but it doesn't seem to work, it spins and flashes in one area. When I move it doesn't move.

@TomRace16 of your tracker hasn't been used in Moines, it will be dead, these fond my fitbit apps depend on the tracker being alive and running. Since it has been several months your tracker will be dead and you will need to use your eyes to locate it.

Best Answer

Just in case: what @Rich_Laue means by "dead" is the battery will be totally discharged. The tracker itself may still very well be in working condition, if/when found and once recharged. But you’ll indeed need to locate it the old-fashioned way.

I've lost my Fitbit and I've tried all the tracking apps but it doesn't turn up does that mean it's not nearby and when you try to Bluetooth sync what do you do ?
