Upgraded to Charge 3 from Charge 2 yesterday. Fluent in the use of the app, mobile track, etc.
(1) I'm noticing my calories burned today are a good bit lower than usual for time of day, which is likely related to issue (2) after my recent few syncs (all day sync is OFF and I sync at breaks, etc to check on challenges) a chunk of steps have disappeared. I was over 5000 at 2pm, and now down to 3448 within the hour. Shutdown and restarted phone, synced again, and the steps still are missing. Anyone else experiencing these issues?

Mine constantly does this to. Also the GPS gets messed up. I cant tell you how many times I have reset it and it changed my clock face so I had to do that..super annoying.
It is doing it again everyday missing a out 500 calories from what I was at but atleast the GPS has been staying decent.
I even contracted fitbit on chat and the guy I talked to kept trying to make excuses that didnt make sense I had to go to an appointment so i figured I'll go on chat again and hopefully get someone who knows what their talking about next time.
He started saying did you input food? I said no i have no time to sit on my phone and do that half the time. Then he started asking if i changed my weight . I said no i probably havent ren changed my weight since getting it because I just dont bother. But somehow he still went on about how I dont understand how it works how it takes my fitbit data from weight, age etc. .... it doesnt even make sense since I changed nothing ! It still shouldnt go backwards daily !

Mines been going backwards since winter to. Think I'm going to check it out before it syncs see how far it goes back.
Contacted customer service several times before they finally admitted somethings wrong with their system that they may or may not be able to fix but they are working on it. ..its annoying but it works for a week or less if you factory reset it. I kept doing that.

My Charge 3 intermittently loses steps. I will reach/exceed my daily step goal only to see the following day that my step count for the previous day no longer meets or exceeds the goal.

I just upgraded to the Charge 3 after a month of my Charge 2 losing active minutes. I spent hours in chat and on the phone with Fitbit customer service, only to be told they were aware of a problem, and "Engineering" was working on it. When they were unable to tell me when, or even IF, "Engineering" would have the issue resolved, I gave up and decided to upgrade to the Charge 3. Day one of the new device and I lost 10,000 steps before I went to bed. The device literally went from 12,000 steps to 2,000 steps. Now I am reading that others are having this problem. What has happened with Fitbit and its customer service?? It was always so reliable. Now I am starting to think I need to send this back and change over to the Apple Watch.

I reset the device, twice as it turned out. It has been fine since.

I agree. I just upgraded to the 3 last night (after I had to send it back because it came to me broken) and I think I might have to just go back to the 2. I'm so unhappy with this so far. I lost at least 2000 steps today, my first day with it! I watched it dip down when I changed my clock face.

It’s so annoying, I rely on it calculating my caloric output so I can always stay negative. Reading through this feed, it’s been a problem for a couple of years now. So I’m not expecting them to fix it anytime soon. I just can’t tell if the problem lays within the app or the devise. Either the devise isn’t sending data correctly or the app is receiving it, I’m thinking about going Apple and then take my Charge3 and run it over with my car. FitBit customer service has been zero help.

I don't know a ton about apple but particularly from runners, i always hear people raving about the garmins and how great they are, i'd recomend going with that. That will be my next device, just a little more pricey for one with music which is a must for me. But if that's not essential to you, they have very affordable ones to. I'm only a bit $ off on amazon for a vivoactive 3, can't wait, hopefully by spring/summer.
Apparently they are excellent on distance whereas fitbit is off i hear.

First day with charge 3 and it’s just cut all my data in half how do I resolve this

It’s annoying. Mostly I wear the Charge 2 and only use the 3 when I need to charge the Charge 2. It’s a waste of money.
Steps that I’ve taken that sometimes work, it doesn’t appear that any of them consistently fix it.
Turn off, wait a minute and then back on your BluTooth.
Turn off and back on the watch
Turn off and back on whatever devise you are syncing to. I refuse to turn off my iPhone several times a day to get a good synch, should not have to.
Tried other apps but they only upload the data that FitBit has stored. My next one for sure will be Apple Smart Watch.
hope this helps

I've been having issues syncing my Charge 3 to my Iphone for the past five months! Half way through the sync, everything carries over to the app just fine, but once the sync is finished, I usually lose active minutes and also a good amount of calories. I pretty much only use the device for step counting and sleep tracking now.
I've contacted support three times (including again yesterday) and they continue to say they're aware of the issue and it's been escalated. It's all crap. No bug should be around this long. This will most likely never be fixed.

It is now May 2020. But still this problem persists. I go for a walk and look at my steps, when I synch there are less steps: why? Getting fed up with Fitbit: hear of other brands that are much more reliable. In 16 months I am now on my 3rd Fitbit charge 3. I am wasting a lot of money !!

You might want to reread what she wrote. Nothing you said applies to her or mines situation.

This is the message I received when my steps were going missing and it resolved the issue

Don't know why that would work when it's a syncing issue.
