Moto G5 compatability with Charge 3

I'm thinking of buying a Charge 3 but my Moto G5 phone isn't on the compatability list. Any comments from anyone who has used a Charge 3 with a Moto G5 about what does/doesn't work please? (I've seen lots about other fitbits not playing well with Moto G5, and people who have used the Charge 3 with other versions of Moto phones but I'm keen to hear first hand experience of Charge 3 and Moto G5 specifically if anyone has experienced this combination themselves.) Thanks!

I have been using the Charge 3 with a Moto G5 Plus (4Gig/64Gig) since early October. It works pretty well. Initially I had a few sync problems but they have mostly resolved with the new firmware releases for the Charge 3. The app works great on the Moto G5 Plus. The only thing that does not work well is the Connected GPS. Sometimes it connects, other times it will not find the phone even though data syncing works. Message, email and phone notifications all seem to work with the latest firmware release. WiFi uploads from the phone app to a PC works flawlessly.

As for the Charge 3, it has had many problems since its release. Inaccurate Heart Rate, hanging up and needing to be restarted. With the last release, when I manually start an activity, it oftentimes stops recording the activity before the activity is over. This behavior started just after the last firmware release.

Moto G5s plus works great with charge 3. First Fitbit would not maintain sync. Exchanged for new, now works.

It is not compatible with the Moto G5, as I know to my cost.  So don't waste your money.

Thanks for your input everyone. I decided to risk it as some had had OK experiences. So far, so good, largely. There are some definite idiosyncrasies which might put others off but I'm OK with, for now. Syncing is sometimes a bit useless but it eventually gets there, as long as the device isn't showing as connected in the Bluetooth list (which is course completely counter intuitive!). If "Charge 3" shows up as connected  in the Bluetooth list I tell my phone to forget it and it starts syncing again. Step count is wildly inaccurate if I wear it on my dominant hand (close to double the steps even when I've got it set to dominant). Although if I'd prefer to wear it on this wrist I'm flexible about that and I'm testing it on my non-dominant wrist today (still with the dominant setting) to see if it works better. Since I'm more interested in trends rather than absolute step counts, again, this is something I can live with but others might not. Hopefully Fitbit listen to the large numbers of people having Bluetooth issues and getting inaccurate step counts with their Charge 3 and work on their algorithms but for now this is OK for what I need. Hopefully this info is helpful for someone else along the line. Thanks!

I'm not getting any notifications at all with my charge 3 and motoG5 phone. The list of apps I want it to connect to don't show up in the Fitbit app. How did you do it??
