Moving a Charge 2 to a new account.

Hi,

I bought my wife a new Fitbit for Christmas and I am taking her old one. How do I delete her data and add the device on my account. The Charge 2 does not seeming to be sinking to my phone or PC. Is there a way to reset the Charge 2 to its factory specs? Thanks!

Hello @SteppingUpSam, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. Smiley Happy

Please note that all the information displayed in your wife's account will stay in that account even if she sets up a new device. Unfortunately, it's not possible to perform a factory reset in the Charge 2; however, you can set up the old Charge 2 in your account and it will sync with the information in your account with a fresh start (counting only BMR calories), meaning that it will not transfer any of your wife's data to your account.

If the Charge 2 is not setting up to your account or if it's having trouble syncing, please go to your wife's phone > Settings > Bluetooth and remove the Charge 2 from the list of paired devices. Then, try to set up or sync your tracker in your account again.

To set up your tracker as a new device:

  1. Open the Fitbit app and tap on the Account symbol at the top right corner of the screen, then tap on "Set up a New Device"
  2. Choose your tracker and follow the onscreen instructions to continue
  3. When the app asks you to replace your current tracker, please replace it and continue with the process.
  4. When a pop-up appears asking you to Pair your tracker to your device, tap on Pair and continue.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else.

I have a versa and had a charge 2 on fitbit account.  I bought my husband a charge 2.  He has been using it but when time changed it did not change.  His was not connected to any account.  I would like to set his up to his gmail account.  How do I do this?
