Same issue with me.
Since the last Windows app update, some sleep days are missing and activity is not recording, although the steps are.
Seems to be some glitch introduced with that last app update?

Hello @lucky_phil welcome to the board, I've moved your sleep and activity question out of the thread about active minutes.
My first thought would be to try a restart of the tracker.
How do I restart my Fitbit device?

Hi,
Thanks for the answer, but having restarted the Charge 2 tracker, it is still not recording activities automatically.
For example, it used to record lawn mowing as "outdoor Bike" previously, but now it does not.
It seems to have lost that automatic activity tracking since the latest Windows Fitbit App update last week?

As a p.s.
I was wondering if a Microsoft update could be the problem?
There was an update around the same time ...
February 12, 2019 KB4483452 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.7.2 for Windows 10, version 1809 and Windows Server 2019
Could that have something to do with the problems in the Fitbit App?

Today, the tracker did successfully register a walk activity to the App ... so this is odd.
Perhaps an intermittent issue which is the worst ... very hard to track down when an error is not consistent.

Have you checked the auto detect settings?

Hi,
The Auto Detect is set to recognize Walk and Outdoor Bike, ignores: running; elliptical; sports and aerobic (which I don't do)
It did successfully detect the walking today ... so I'll see what happens next time I am doing the lawn mowing.
Appreciate your help.
Thanks for your suggestions.

Hi Again,
I thought I would turn on auto-recognize for "Aerobic Workout" to see if that would make any difference.
I went to the Windows Fitbit App to turn that activity on to auto-detect and it kept reverting to "Ignored" ... syncing the tracker made no difference. So I restarted the tracker once again and that solved the auto-detect with that activity, it now remains turned on.
I'm hopeful that this second restart of the tracker will solve all the other issues recently ... (including missing sleep logging) and missed auto exercise.
I'll post up here again after a day or 2 to advise if all is working well again.
Thanks for your help on this board.

Hi,
The Charge 2 is now registering activities fine again. It picked up my lawn mowing activity today as Outdoor Bike like it normally does.
Must have been the second reset that did the trick.

Since your hand is pushing the mower, or maybe your riding the mower, I can see how the hand bounces around like it would on a bike.

Yes,
I push the mower, so I think that Outdoor Bike is the best fit for the activity.
So I'm happy that it is now recording the activity after doing a restart of the tracker.
A satisfied customer once more 🙂
