There is a brightness adjustment on wrist in Settings > Display
If that doesn't make any difference you might accidentally be in Sleep Mode which intentionally keep the screen dim.

@Mr.TandT As @JohnnyRow mentioned above, you can go to your Charge 3's settings by sliding the display to the left and tapping on Settings where you can change the brightness. You can also check that the Sleep mode is turned off by pressing the left button for 2 seconds and confirm that Sleep is disabled. If Sleep mode is enabled, the screen will remain dark and the display won't turn on when you move your wrist.
By the way, I moved your post to the Charge 3 board to keep the Community organized.
