My Charge 3 screen doesn't show up when outside

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

For a few months now I can only see my screen when inside.  I have it set on Brightness but it does not show up when outside and is just dark. This is the 3rd time this has happened to me when my fit bit reaches about 18 months old.  Please can you help me.

Same here. I have already restarted the device without changes. I see this is an issue that a bunch of us are suffering. It started some time ago and since sometimes I can see the display totally lighted, I can tell it is not a matter of the light.

Thanks,

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @GrauchoMarx@Conniejo01 and thanks for getting back to us @rwalker82. Thank you for following advised troubleshooting steps.

Please try the long restart:

  1. Connect the device to the charging cable.
  2. While the device is plugged into the charging cable, press and hold the button down for 15 seconds.
  3. The device turns on and shows a battery icon. Two vibrations occur: first a short vibration, then a medium vibration.
  4. The device turns off.
  5. The device turns on and shows a progress bar and short vibrations occur. The progress bar completes. Note: A total of 7 short vibrations occur.
  6. Remove the device from the charging cable. The device shuts down.
  7. Important: Plug the device into the charging cable again.

You can also try changing your tracker's clock face.

I couldn't reproduce the steps, talked to support and waiting for an answer. It does not look good though...Two years of use is enough for this device to die? 😕

Its very frustrating. They sent me a # to call but I havent had time yet
to follow through. It shouldnt be this difficult. Its a watch!

So a bunch of us are having this issue (precisely after warranty ended) and the solution is: take a discount and get a new one. Ok, Fitbit, thanks for the discount, but I am kind of skeptical about your products' life...

Yes it seems unfair - but shelf life for so many things nowadays is much shorter - perhaps we should be warned that they do not last long. D
Def rubbish if you cannot read the watch face in the daylight.

I purchased my Charge 3 for the purpose of seeing how I was doing on my daily walks.

Only problem, I walk outdoors. I never was able to read that watch outside. Inside, no problem but outside, forget it.

I wonder, have they changed the screens yet so they CAN be read outside during daylight hours?
