My Charge 3 screen is too dim

I have a Fitbit Charge 3.  I bought it early 2019 (it's now 2022) and have worn it for the equivalent of about a year.  The face was always on the dim side and challenging to read outdoors, but I dealt with it. Now the screen is almost black.  I had to take it into a completely dark room, and still could barely see enough to follow the trouble shooting instructions.  I contacted Fitbit, and they walked me through the troubleshooting steps that I had already performed, then said they'd send me an email with warranty info.  Got the email stating my device is outside of the scope of Fitbits warranty, but they'd offer me a 35% discount on a new device. I'm astonished that this company thinks a person would purchase another product after an unresolved complaint about a defected product. Also, the 'bike' function has never worked since day one (I've seen published complaints on this too), yet Fitbit has never resolved the issue of selling a product where a feature does not work as promised, which is in conflict with their warranty.  Buyer beware.
