My Charge HR's battery won't last longer than 10hrs

I've had my charge hr for days now. I bought it on Mercari brand new with sealed packaging, and when I opened it up it was 100% new. Ever since I got it, I've been getting notifications on my phone that the battery is almost dead every 8hrs or so. I charge it overnight so I can use it during the day, but by doing that I lose the sleep monitor feature and I find that frustrating. I've turned off All-Day Sync and Quick View. I also only have one alarm, and I charge the watch on my laptop with the original charger. I'm looking for any extra tips anyone has to help me out, your help is greatly appreciated.

Are you sure it is a Charge Hr which hasn't been sold for almost 5 years?

By now the battery may be no good.

Yes, it was sealed when I got it. And I still have the box that says “Charge Hr.” You’re probably right, it’s been a while since it’s been sold which might affect the battery, but it’s brand new right out of the box.

Then I would contact the seller, or contact.fitbit.com

Manny - check that you have the heartrate monitor function set to 'auto' so the LEDs are only on when you are wearing the band. I guess the 8-10 hrs you refer to are the actual wearing time.

Yes, It would barely get me through a day. When it comes to settings so that the battery is optimized, I’ve done them all, including the auto HR setting.

Scratching for fixes here but have you reset/rebooted the device? That is, press and hold the button on the side, with the tracker plugged into a charger, until a little icon with the FW revision number appears on the display. it takes about 5-10 seconds to reboot.

Yeah, I think I’ve rebooted it 4x.The battery must be in a bad condition because these things just don’t help. Thank you for the help anyway though, I’ll just use it as is.

Lithium batteries have a limited number of recharging cycles, letting them fully discharge or charging to 100% also isn't good. Heat also damages, in short these batteries have a limited life span.

Amazon does sell replacement batteries and you will find YouTube videos on how to replace.

If your not up to it, a teenager even a friend's handy 10 year old could.
