The display screen on my charge 3 is acting as if the buttons are constantly being pressed while I’m not even touching it. I can’t get into settings to reset it. What else can be done? Searching for other options hasn’t provided me with any helpful information.

That was the first thing I tried and unfortunately the side button doesn’t recognize that I’m even touching it. The screen goes from display to display and vibrates like the side button and the screen are being repeatedly pressed.

Mine is about a year old and this is the first time I’ve had any trouble with it. I’m also really careful with it since the charge 2 I had before just randomly ended up with a cracked screen. I’m wondering if that’s what’s wrong with this one. That it somehow got damaged. Hopefully we can find some sort of solution!

I have my charge 3 plugged in and now, every 8 seconds, the smiley face icon appears and disappears. That’s all it’s doing. The side button and face sensors are not functional.

Yes, and this is quite disappointing given the cost of the device. Apparently, the screen illumination is not as resilient underuse as presented in the marketing scheme. I understand there are inherent challenges with thin-film devices however this seemed to be presented as a well-manufactured device.
That I don't understand are the options, there seems to be none. I am led to believe this was a known and this eventual defect factored into the sales strategy and will be absorbed by loss of market, or repurchasing for that matter.
I will not be buying this device, "Fitbit" products, nor recommending such to others. This is MY choice in the matter. What's fair is fair!

That's exactly what mine is doing now! Did you ever resolve this issue?
