My Fitbit3 shows blank screen and a white horizontal line across the screen and won't start, no matter how hard I try

That sounds like some sort of update was being performed: a white line = completed progress bar, grey one = just starting. Have you been installing today's update, or trying to change clock face?

i have same issue, was trying to update and stuck with the horizontal line across for more than 8 hours now.
