My charge 2 counts calories when not even worn

I do not wear my Fitbit at night it is even taken off well before midnight, but in the morning it always has like 500 to 700 calories burned. The other day I forgot it at home so all numbers were 0 but calories burned was 2,033. Something is up or my nightstand gets a good workout.

Fitbit counts BMR (basal metabolic rate) calories, what you are always burning just by being alive.  These are credited even when you are not wearing the tracker, figuring you are still alive.

See How does Fitbit estimate how many calories I've burned? for more on this.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
