My out door biking miles aren’t contributing to my daily total

Hi I don’t know if any one else has this issue or knows how to solve it but if I go on a bike ride for example 14 miles this doesn’t show on my total distance for the day. Is there a setting to get this to be added to my daily total distance?

Total daily distance includes only step-based activities, not biking.

Some don't like this, but it makes sense to me.  14 miles on a bike is not equivalent to walking or running 14 miles.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

Thank you for the reply I see how it does make sense but also it would make sense to me to include it in your total daily miles as you have travelled that distance over the day. So as I go for a run it says impact on your day 5 miles for this run so I just presumed it would be same. But I now know it’s not only my watch that does it.
