I have the same problem on my charge 4
I did have my fitness pal linked at the start but it’s long removed.
if I manually go to my app or fitbit menu and choose activity eg: walking. And press start it starts tracking my walk but when I get home the fitbit app has recorded the walking activity like I asked but also automatically tracked the workout.
it shows up twice 1 hour apart time wise.
very frustrating. If I leave it to auto track that’s fine one workout only is recorded but that means I don’t get the feedback I want from the fitbit during the walk also no GPS is registered. If I delete the auto created activity that does not delete the steps from the activity.
please fix this! Very frustrating!

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @amjo92.
I'm sorry to hear that your walks are getting registered twice. Thank you for the information provided and for trying to resolve the issue before contacting us.
If you haven't done it, please restart your Fitbit Charge 4 by following these steps. If this doesn't help, please set up your Tracker as a replacement device:
Whether you continue having the same problem, you can disable the Auto-Exercise Recognition for your walks. To change this feature please go to the online website at fitbit.com > Settings > Devices > Auto-Exercise Recognition > Walk. Please make sure to sync your Charge 4 after making any changes to your Fitbit account.
I moved your post to the Charge 4 board because it is more related to the topic.
If you have any question, please let us know.

I've had the same issues as @amjo92 and it's SO frustrating!
I ran this morning, it recorded 2 x runs; I deleted the 2nd run (which was inaccurate) and now I've lost a portion of my accurate run. It's like you have to have partial runs in order to have your main run recorded, which is crazy and confusing...
I've a Luxe - can anyone offer any advice. I've reset my Luxe AND have followed the advice above and re-set up the device...

Same issue here. 2 runs record with different data. Then if I delete one of them it changes the distance maybe more…
example:
I stared my run on the iPhone app (yes I do have auto detect on as well). After run I have two recordings.
1 run says 2.01 miles
another says 1.4
Then after deleting one, the other run changes to .51 miles…. Other stats look right but distance is lower.

SO annoying isn’t it! I discovered the answer after much to’ing and fro’ing. Basically, if you’ve got auto detect on your Fitbit, and then you start running and start recording on the app, it records twice (although I’ve no idea why some of it is deleted when you opt to delete one - that happened to me, too!). So, all I do now is leave the Fitbit app alone, start recording manually on my Fitbit and it works fine - one run, not two!
Hope that helps!

Many issues with Fitbit and the latest recording everything twice.
Think it's time to change to a new GPS tracking system!
Bit done
