My wrist band keeps breaking!

ANSWERED

After having my charge two for a week, the part of the band that attaches to the actual Fitbit broke. I got a new one, but it broke in the exact same exact spot. Would my warranty still cover another one since I just got it replaced? And what can I do to stop this from happening? It hasn't even been a month since I've purchased it and only seems to last a week before the wristband breaks.

So I had been using a clip to wear my Fitbit. Last night I decided to use
the replacement band Fitbit sent a few months back.
What junk.
A brand new band and it fell off while I was sleeping and again now at
work.
Unbelievable

It may not be the band. If the watch's case is worn .. mine was. Cheap
metal on the charge 2

You are right on. I’m not purchasing another FitBit until the weak strap issue is fixed.

Fitbit has apparently made the corporate decision not to fix this design
flaw. Just go to Amazon or someplace like that and buy Fitbit compatible
bands. I did this and it solved the problem.

Since the Charge is no longer manufactured, as many many have mentioned. For a lot less aggregation and a $5 cup of coffee for you and another for a friend you can get a nice metal band from Amazon. BTW it cost them about 70 cents to make their most expensive coffee.

Hi Rich_Laue
Thanks. Yes did that via Lazada which was having a 3-fer sale...ie 3 for
$5. So I’m a happy camper now.
The more practical (& ethical as in honest) point tho is this: why
couldn’t FitBit just say so? Instead of just replying ’ ‘Yeah we goofed
with the crappy wristband’ and pointing us to where we could quickly &
cheaply get one (or 3), F(ug)Bit pretends to empathise & rolls out the fine
print about the ifs, whats, unless, provisos of its warranty. Hey, u guys
are from Frisco, the original city for peace & love ...wear some honesty in
your hair FBit🧘🏿‍:male_sign:

I bought an aftermarket strap that I find much better than the original.

Hello, just had my third band for Charger 2 purchased in April 2018 break. Had second one replaced after warranty expired. Dealing with support now. Can’t believe how terrible the bands are. What is being done about it please?

Best Answer

Just wondering if it worked for you? Onto band 4 if Fitbit provide another band 19 months after purchase.

Hi Gabby11,
In a very short word, “Nothing”.
I gave up asking FB after 3 tries and bought a set of 3 bands online for a
few bucks. Works swell. Obviously FB knows it’s a manufacturing problem &
is shirking. DIY’s the practical solution, I’m afraid. Jog on👍

@Gabby11 I don't know if any user will be able to tell you if Fitbit will do anything for a tracker that was discontinued over a year ago. However I can't believe there are people that haven't spent $8USD for a metal band from Amazon after their first band broke.BTW it took 2.5 years for my band to break.

I bought a band from SUPCASE. Very happy with it. I prefer it much better than the one that came with the fitbit.
