My wrist band keeps breaking!

After having my charge two for a week, the part of the band that attaches to the actual Fitbit broke. I got a new one, but it broke in the exact same exact spot. Would my warranty still cover another one since I just got it replaced? And what can I do to stop this from happening? It hasn't even been a month since I've purchased it and only seems to last a week before the wristband breaks.

I had 2 straps break in less than a year. My concern is it may break and I will not notice and lose the watch.

Went through 4 and Fitbit won't do anything about it anymore.  Will never buy or recommend their products as a watch is no good without a band and should not have to resort to an alternative.  Hopefully the Milano stainless steel one I got from eBay Australia will last and last.

I had the same problem with my Fitbit Alta HR.  I contacted Customer Service and my Fitbit was a few months out of warranty so they said they could not help me.  I was going to buy an additional band, but read that it didn't seem to help.  Every time it separated from the tracker it was on the same side, which indicates a design problem, especially when so many users have the same experience.  Well, it all came to an end this weekend when I went out to the ATM and PO, and I lost it.  I called both places and of course, I possibly lost it in the parking lot.  I've searched the house and it's not syncing and I'm pretty sure it was on when I left the house.  I have been using some type of Fitbit since 2013 and the Alta is now discontinued (probably because of the band problem) and considered getting a Charge 4 HR, but I'm so disappointed with Fitbit customer service and their not addressing a problem among many users, I've decided to look into the Garmin Vivosmart HR.  Cheaper and with a lot more features including Oxygen Saturation.

That is no good.  The replacement style band I got will hopefully be better than their rubbish as I do hope it is the bands and not the fitting on the tracker that causes the issue.  Would never buy their products again due to the poor company policy of not taking responsibility for this.

It's just the way Fitbit works. I went onto Amazon and get some matching
bands and used them. I also moved onto an Apple Watch, but you can't
record food on that so I just buy inexpensive replacement bands. Fitbit is
not going to fix it.

Hello everyone.

I think it's a common defect. Wait until you try to take off the wrist bands to clean them after one and half year...then you try to put them back in place and a little bit of plastic from the watch comes off (let's be honest, it's nearly impossible to replace the strap). And because your warranty has expired they give you 35%off for a new watch. Why should I buy a new watch from them? My Fitbit is working fine, it's just a tiny plastic bit that came off. No repairing, no service, bad for the environment as well!

That is exactly what happened to my Charge 4 - a newer model that still has the same design flaw.  Straps and replacements kept breaking on the Charge 2 so I gave the 4 a try and after 6 months I'd lost the tracker I spent $150 on because of the subpar wristbands that Fitbit continues to provide with their device. I'll have to see if they'll replace my Charge 4, but I'm pretty sure I'm not buying anymore of them after this experience with two different models.

Good thing is that most of the far less expensive trackers have much better quality wristbands. Never had one of them break.

Sad really.  They had a great product back in the day.  Still do but impossible to look past this glaring design flaw

The material they're making these bands out of is just designed to fail after a while. I'm pretty sure it's intentional. I've gone through three now, all eventually develop cracks and then quietly split clean through. Fortunately I've noticed each time so far and not lost the tracker itself.

Between this and the way they refuse to fix any bugs in their android app, I'm looking into other brands. Company's just not being run well.

FitBits utterly dishonest this way…they ain’t gonna fix the problem,
period.

Better to check in with Lazada or any online shopping mall…there’re
gazillion wristbands on sale for as little as US50 cents; mainly made in
China vendors. You can buy a bunch of them; and u need to cos each band
lasts for a few months max. But with half a dozen for US$3-5, that means ur
covered for a year or two at least per buy.
See sample ad below on Lazada.
