MyFitnesspal Calorie Counter vs Fitbit

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I'm getting very high calories burned for walking at 4.5 km/h (average) for 50 mins (around 700 calories). My heart rate is generally high during this.

When I put in my details in myfitnesspals' calorie calculator, the calorie result is much lower.

Am I missing something?

@asifh Welcome to the Fitbit Community! I hope you're doing well! Thank you for your inquiry. Try checking your personal information as this is used to calculate your caloric burn (additionally to your heart rate). You can read more on how this works here.

Let me know how it goes!

Hey thank you for your response.

I'm a bit apprehensive since myfitnesspal's calorie calculator (and other online calorie burn calculators) also rely on the same personal information and the BMR formula for the purpose of calculating calorie burn i.e. I have inserted the same information in all calculators.

The estimate I'm getting from Myfitnesspal is almost half of what Fitbit is calculating.
