Hi @Philblas brand new? The Charge 2 was discontinued early 2019, so it would have an old battery. When these devices are left unused, the batteries do tend to die. You should check with the seller to see if you can return or exchange it.

As @Odyssey13 mentioned, Charge 2 was discontinued on 2019. Try these steps and if they don't work check with the seller:
