I received a new Fitbit Charge 2 for Christmas. I downloaded the app onto a Motorola Droid Turbo. I created an account. When I try to pair the Fitbit with the phone it won't pair. The phone and Fitbit will recognize each other, the Fitbit generates the 4 digit code, I put the code into the phone but from that point the two will not pair. The phone operating system is up to date. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the phone app. I done a reset of the Fitbit. Nothing works. I took the Fitbit to the Geek Squad at Best Buy and they think the Fitbit Bluetooth is broke. Should I send it back and get another one or is there something else I can try?

@Lazabby, try the following steps:
Let us know if it is able to complete the setup after those steps.

I tried it twice and it still won't pair. I put in the 4 digit code and the phone tried to connect but it won't.

To add to Larry's steps.
1- before shutting down the phone, through the phones settings - kill the Fitbit app. Then swipe Fitbit out of memory
2- Clear the apps cache. Do a Google I don't know what android version.
3- swipe any unneeded programs out of memory
4- restart tracker 3 times
Open for and go for it.

Check https://fitbit.com/devices to see if your device is compatible and how. I can't sync my Charge 2 w/ my brand-new Moto X4 via the app and Fitbit help support tells me my phone's not supported for sync. 😞 Srsly. So I have to keep my old Motorola Nexus 6, just to sync my steps. If you have a computer/laptop/chromebook/tablet, maybe check to see if you can get them to pair that way? If that doesn't work, try calling or holding a chat w/ Fitbit help staff. They are very friendly. If no luck with that, yes, take it back and exchange it.

Nope. Still won't work. The phone finds the tracker, the tracker knows the phone is reaching out to it and generates the 4 digit number. I put the number in the phone and the phone says it's connecting but it doesn't. It finally gives up.

Trying to pair Charge 2 to Samsung A40 without success. Says it has found the device and enter the 4 digit code but then won't sync. Any ideas.
Thanks

After you enter the 4 digit code, the tracker needs to be connected to your Fitbit account. Then the app will be able to sync.
@HayleyW you say the tracker will not sync?
Does that mean that the Fitbit app shows the Charge 2 connected to your Fitbit account?
If not, after entering the 4 digits, did you get any error?
I do not see your phone listed as being tested, have you searches the boards for your phone model? Maybe someone has already posted help.

Do you get any error message @DCMug
Is this a replacement phone? Why are you setting up the Charge 2?
When switching phones, simply download the Fitbit app and log into your Fitbit account. Follow the prompts requesting for permissions?
I assume your old phone is not around or is turned off if it is.

Having same problem with my daughter's Samsung Galaxy A8 and her Charge 2 which she's had for 6months and it was syncing fine until May.
We have tried Larry's advice, with the additional info of clearing fitbit cache etc.
Can only get as far as inputting fitbit tracker code into phone and it says 'connecting' in a perpetual loop thst goes no further.
Wife has same model phone and fitbit and they are working fine

I am having the same issue. I did the Samsung upgrade on my Samsung A8 and before I did everything worked fine since it wont pair. Error message says couldn't pair check settings for this device.

Breakthrough! Sync now working. I followed the advice above and also deleted the existing connection between Charge 2 device and phone from within the app and then reconnected the Charge 2 to the phone - and it worked.
Personally, I think the issue is the Bluetooth connection to the Charge 2. I think Bluetooth is unstable as it doesn't consistently find things it can pair with. So have cleared Bluetooth cache and 'forced stop' several times before restarting.
I may well be back on here if this connectivity issue between the phone and fitbit device returns...but bye for now!

Hi guys,
I'm having the same issue re-connecting my charge 2 after it was off for 3 weeks...
I have followed all of the steps but after entering the 4 digit pin the connecting wheel just perpetually turns.
Any more advice would be greatly appreciated!
