I received a new Fitbit Charge 2 for Christmas. I downloaded the app onto a Motorola Droid Turbo. I created an account. When I try to pair the Fitbit with the phone it won't pair. The phone and Fitbit will recognize each other, the Fitbit generates the 4 digit code, I put the code into the phone but from that point the two will not pair. The phone operating system is up to date. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the phone app. I done a reset of the Fitbit. Nothing works. I took the Fitbit to the Geek Squad at Best Buy and they think the Fitbit Bluetooth is broke. Should I send it back and get another one or is there something else I can try?

Before trying to setup the Charge 2, the Charge 2 must be removed from the phones Bluetooth.

Hi All
I've had the same issue for well over a year now until the other day, so my Fitbit has been dormant in my drawer. For some reason J decided to try something and it worked. So nothing suggested here will work the only way around this is get your hands on an iPhone setup the sync then it will sync with your android app. Once that's done remove the sync from that iPhone. Until they fix the android app this is the only way I can see around pairing. Btw I have a charge 2 with a Pixel 3

I'm not following you @Joeyjojo529
This thread started with asking why the user can not pair a tracker by using the phones Bluetooth. A user should not be able to pair this way.
A user does not setup a sync, but sets up the tracker to their fitbit account.
Once setup to their account, the fitbit app will then handle the Bluetooth connection and the sync.
Please remember that Bluetooth limits only one connection at a time for the Bluetooth receiver. This means a user can only connect with one phone, tablet at a time.

Apologies I rushed when I typed up my post. So I'll start from the beginning.
The issue I was having was that my charge 2 would not sync with my pixel 3. so basically the date and time was out and my app on my android wouldn't see any of my steps etc. I tried everything and anything and just wouldn't sync (hard resets on the Fitbit etc). Got to the point that I just unpaired my Fitbit from my account all together. When I tried to pair it back it wouldn't let me, gets me to the point that I enter in the 4 digit code displayed and just times out while trying to connect/pair.
So I gave up after trawling forums trying to find out why and my Fitbit was left on my desk for over a year. then for some reason had another crack at it and read that it's only happening to the android app so I decided to pair it with an iPhone first which worked and in the same instance restored the sync between my pixel 3 and the Fitbit, the sync is between the account and the Fitbit from what I can see so doesn't matter what phone establishes the initial pair. Once the sync was back I just made the iPhone forget my Fitbit and my android app is now paired and in sync with my Fitbit.
I know this is not the ideal solution but it's better than having a Fitbit that won't sync or pair. The andoird app definitely has issues not sure what's happened but some time last year an update went through and the sync just stopped. Hope that was a little clearer.

First thing, removing a tracker is that telling the fitbit cloud services that you do not want to use your tracker. Removing a tracker will never fix a problem that is between the phone and the tracker and has nothing to do with your fitbit account.
As I mentioned above, removing the tracker from your iOS, has disconnected the tracker from your iOS phone. Since this Connie toon has been broken, your android now may connect to tracker.

Look I'm just posting up what has worked for me. My pixel 3 now is in sync with my charge 2 and has been in sync for over 2 weeks now. The iPhone I used to setup the pairing no longer has my Fitbit connected to it. I'm just tell you what I know and see and that's what I see. I'm not proposing it as a final fix just as a work around because the problem lies with the android app and certain Fitbit models. If you want to try this then go ahead and if it works for you then great if it doesn't well doesn't change anything you Fitbit goes back into the drawer or the bin. I'm just glad it's working for me as I do like to track my jogs and also I didn't have to go out and buy another device to do what my Fitbit should be doing in the first place.

Also to answer your question since disconnecting from my iPhone. I still cannot connect my Fitbit to my android. But it recognises that it is there just can't establish a connection. I don't want to screw around with it anymore since it's working now.

Since you say that the tracker is conneccted to your fitbit account.
Turn off the Bluetooth on the iOS device.
Now let's pick up the android phone. Open the fitbit app. The app knows what tracker is attached to The fitbit account and will try and sync the tracker.
You can not attach a tracker to the phone. You arts bj a tracker to your fitbit account, then the fitbit app attaches the tracker to the phone.
