New Charge 3 - Text messages won't show up

Is there a fix for text messages not coming through to my new Charge 3 tracker? I would like to find a solution and if not I will need to return it within the 30 days.  I bought this in order to receive the texts.

Hey there @LadyK1313, it's nice to see you around here! Sorry to hear that your Charge 3 isn't receiving notifications. 

While reading your post I was wondering if you've checked that the mobile device you're syncing with is included in our list of supported devices?

I jist learned that my phone (HTC One M9) is not compatible with notifications. Is there a possibility that it will be added in the future?

Hey there @Adelas, thanks for stopping by!  Sorry to hear that your phone is not yet in our list of supported devices. 

Note that the devices on this list have been confirmed as fully compatible with all features of Fitbit devices and the Fitbit app. While a phone or tablet may not be verified as fully compatible, the Fitbit app may still work with your device. 

Our team routinely test new devices to ensure full compatibility with Fitbit devices and the Fitbit app, and are constantly working to confirm compatibility with new phone models, however, we don't have a estimated date on when it will be added. Be sure to verify that your phone meets the minimum operating system requirements. Note that the majority of Android phones running version 4.4 or higher will work with our products. 

If your phone supports Bluetooth 4.0, I'd recommend giving the notification troubleshooting a try to see if the steps work on your tracker.

Please keep in mind that when a device is not supported we cannot guarantee its functionality with the Fitbit app. It might work at a certain time and then it can stop working out of nowhere after an update. This is because the app is not optimized to that device and any change could impact the performance.

Update:  Still no texts coming and I tried all of the below.....

My phone is compatable with the Fitbit Charge 3. (i have an Iphone 7 and it is on the list)

I turned on all notifications and even made sure I turned on all my show notifications so it shows on my phone screen.  

I turned off my do not disturb.

Everything I read I have done and my text messages will not come through.  I upgraded to the Charge 3 as I thought it would be better to see texts with a bigger screen but i can't get them so I think I will go back to my Alta as there is no solving this text problem so my next forum question is... How do I return this tracker??

I have a Google Pixel XL 2. I've been holding out for a new Fitbit Charge 3. The only other Fitbit I've had was an Alta and it was at least able to show the first 10+ words of a text. Is this going to be addressed for Pixels soon?

I'm having the same problem with the notifications and everything else (battery not charging properly, glitching, not responding....) ! I'll be returning my fitbit too. This is very disappointing.

I spent a lot of time on the phone with support yesterday and eventually found out that my inability to receive texts on my new Charge 3 was a known issue related to my phone's operating system (iOS 12.0.1). This morning, my texts magically started appearing, so apparently the issue has been solved. Hope that's your experience as well.

I think I learned the answer!

I read another discussion on the same issue and tried their solution...I went into the Message+ app, clicked the three lines at the top left and turned ON the Privacy Settings. Ta-da!

I tried everything recommended and it didn't work.  But I did get it to work with these steps:  I went to iPhone settings/notifications/messages, then clicked check mark on banners, then changed banner style to "persistent".  Then went to fitbit app and synced my tracker.  Then clicked on my tracker in the fitbit app, and clicked on notifications again.  It had me re-pair the bluetooth.  Boom it worked.

Hello my fitbit charge 3 will NOT send me my message or phone calls.  I have a Fitbit Charge 3 version 20001.49.45 and app version 2.84 (807).  I have try to plug in and restart the Fitbit and my iphone X.  iOS 12.1.2.  I have reconnected the Fitbit several times.  Please let me know how I can fix this issue.  This is very frustrating and I am out of the return window.  I am not pleased with this product.  I had the Charge 2 and had no issues.

I have the Samsung 10e and my texts and emails will not show up on my charge 3. Everything else seems to sync. I see you do not support the Samsung 10 line, is this going to have an update or should I be returning this product? Thank you for your support.

I have wasted so much time trying to figure out why the charge 3 won’t receive texts.  I have an Android  7.0 and I an ready to return it.  I previously owned a different much cheaper brand that worked perfectly for any years. I never had issues with texts.  ver disappointed.
