I have recently got a new samsung s21 phone and when I receive notifications from contacts their name doesn't show.

@tracyoz123 , Nice to see you here. Thank you for your message and information. 

Please restart your Charge 4. 

Verify on the phone that the Fitbit app is allow to access your contacts. Usually you find this setting on Settings>Apps>Fitbit app>Permission (authorizations).

Thank you for your quick response. I did restart my charge 4 and checked my setting for authorization for contacts, but it did not work. Could it be something else?

Please on the settings on your phone, go to apps>Fitbit App and clear the cache. 

Restart your phone (off/on) and sync your Charge 4.
