Hi,
can anyone please explain how the calories are worked out please ?
I have only just set up my Fitbit and it says 1100cals burnt already ?!
also when I go onto exercises it doesn’t allow me to look up any other exercise other than walk running hiking ?
I got my fit bit to calculate my cals when I exercise and see see what I burn running round after 2 kids all day.
can any one explain in a simple format how it works ?
many thanks

For the calories already there when set up, Fitbit includes your BMR (basic metabolic rate) calories that you are always burning just by being alive. These are credited even when you are not wearing the tracker. The 1100 would be your BMR calorie burn since midnight.
See How does my Fitbit device calculate calories burned?
You must be looking at starting exercise from the phone app. You can start right from the Charge 3 using the Exercise App. From clock face, scroll right to 'Exercise' and tap on that; then scroll sideways to the exercise you want. There can be 6 exercise shortcuts shown there, but you can choose these 6 from among a choice of about 20.
The following help section tells more about this, and how to select which choices you want.
