Hi, I'm new to the community forum. I was given a Fitbit ChargeHR as a gift recently and i am having a lot of problems with getting it to work. I have set it up on my computer and on my iPhone5s via the App, but i cannot see anything on the screen. I have fully charged it and i see the battery icon okay, but after that when i press the button i dont see anything, not even the time!! I have contacted Fitbit support and they have been really helpful and i have followed everything they told me to do but no luck! The last advice they gave me was to restore to factory settings, i followed the advice they gave me but i couldnt get it to even do that!! So does this mean that my device is in fact faulty or has anyone else any advice please?? Its so frustrating, because I've had the Fitbit App on my phone for a long time and i like that it gives my steps, etc, so i was delighted when i got an actual Fitbit device to use with it. Thanks!!!

The Charge HR has been out of production for well over 2 years. If that is what you really have I suspect the battery is shot from sitting on a shelf for years without being charged.

All I can say is that I had a similar problem. My Charge HR died and I bought a new one on eBay (only source, anymore). When I plugged it into my computer it showed a full charge. However, when I disconnected it from the charger, I could not get it to display anything, nor did pressing the button on the side for the recommended 3 seconds produce a display.
I called Fitbit and they said that the unit was defective and I should return it. The warranty only applies to units bought through an authorized reseller. So I need to return it to the eBay seller.
On top of that, FitBit Connect no longer seems to work with Windows 7. Tech support is supposed to get back to me on that issue.
I tried a friend's Windows 10 computer and the Charge HR actually did a BIOS update. But even after that, it still would not show anything on the display when not connected to the charger. When connected to the charger, it only shows the power level and showed the completion bar during the update. I'm quite discouraged, my last Charge HR died at 16 months and the replacement does not work at all.
