My charge 5 fitbit broke.  While I await a new one I pulled out my charge 4 and tried to sync it to my fitbit app on my phone..   i got as far as the pairing code and then it just tries and tries to connect.  the fitbit itself is saying to download the fitbit app or update..  my fitbit app is already downloaded and is up to date.    what else can I try?  I want a fitbit while I wait for Fitbit to send me my replacement.

of course I removed the Charge 5.. I tried everything... I finally got it
working by erasing all data on the Charge 4 and then it paired back up.
that was never noted as a requirement.

Hi there, @mjt59. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. I'm sorry to hear that your Charge 4 is not connecting to your Fitbit app. I understand how important it is to you to pair your Charge 4 as you don't want to be without a Fitbit device while your Charge 5 replacement arrives. I'll do my best to help you with this.

While reading your post I was wondering if you did remove your Charge 5 from your Fitbit app and phone's Bluetooth settings already? If you haven't done so yet, please note that you cannot have two Fitbit devices that use Fitbit App Gallery pair to the same account, probably that's why you're having difficulties to set up your Charge 4. For more information, please see Can I use more than one Fitbit device with the same account?

Once you remove your Charge 5, please try once again to set up your Charge 4 and see how it goes.

Let me know if you need further help.
