Old charge 2 device won't connect to new phone

Hi guys hope someone can help!

I've had my Fitbit for years and had problems when I got it originally, it's been packed away for a while and I'm struggling to connect it to my new phone, I've been on live chat to customer service and got disconnected, now when I try and get on there again it says it gone down a different trail?

 

So it charges and turns on - great

I can't get it to connect the app just keeps saying try again, the device shows the logo but then goes blank and shows the battery I on again. 

 

I was troubleshooting with an agent and got cut off

Is the device you are trying to sync to a supported device?
