One year old FitBit... May have killed it with all my FedEx steps?!?

I received a brand new Charge 3 for Christmas 2018, and two days after Christmas 2019 (this year) it died.  It will work on the charger and says it is charging.  The icon on my i-Phone displays a full charge.  When I take it off the charger it dies immediately.  Here's what I have done already: Charged it on different computers, in different USB ports and cleaned the charging contacts.  What am I missing?  Is the life expectancy of these devices only a year?  Please advise...

Hi Jean,

Yes the battery life is a year,

I got the Charge3 last Xmas and got very used to it ,enjoying all of it's features.

Then it died 2 weeks ago, I took it to Battery world as they tried to find a solution for me only to discover that it has a limited warranty with no ability to open the back and install a new battery.

Since then I have been doing with out any watch.

Exactly the same has just happened to me. Received my charge 3 for xmas 2018 and it has died 2 days after xmas 2019. No green light on rear, numerous resets and reboots. On charge, it tells me various levels of battery charge, one time full, then 78%, then 90%. Indicative of a failed battery. If so, this is a really poor product.

Yes. Exactly. Did you do anything about it? Contact FitBit for replacement? I’m really bummed about the one year (only) life on it.

That’s distressing. I’m sorry you experienced this, too. Not sure FitBit is the way to go for a fitness tracker. Will be shopping for an alternative and expressing my discouragement to the company and with my very active friends and coworkers. 🤬

Luckily I am in the UK, which means that I am covered by law with a 2 year warranty (EU law). So I have contacted the company I purchased it from and they are replacing it.Sent from my Samsung Galaxy smartphone.

Nice! Wish the U.S. had this law. I’m reporting to the MN BBB as a consumer rights issue. Also will never but a FitBit product again and will share my story readily and mightily.

Hi,
I bought another Charge 3 in the Boxing Day sales at a greatly reduced
price and use the spare black watch bands off the previous one for a change.
