Does anyone know if the defect that causes the screen to crack from top to bottom on the Charge 2 has been addressed and fixed in later models? I’ve been a Fitbit user since 2012 when the first models came out and my Charge 2 screen cracked sitting on my dresser overnight. The battery only would last a few days before going dead as well. I have to say I’m pretty heartbroken as I loved that tracker and never once hit it on anything or damaged it. I was hoping to get a new one for Mother's Day but they chose not to put the Charge line on sale. I won’t buy another one and have to go through this again if the newer models do the same thing.

@Bandmama Welcome to the Community.
Sorry for the delay in my reply and to hear that your Charge 2 screen had cracked. Newer models have many improvements and I haven't seen users complain about this. You could try something like the Inspire HR which is smaller but show many of the features the Charge 2 had or try a newer model like the Charge 4 or take advantage of the discounts on the Charge 3.
Let me know how it goes.

Thank you for your reply. I actually have had a support ticket open for a week with customer service as this is a known defect. As of yet I have not heard a word from them. My hope was that they would do the right thing and replace it or at the very least offer an alternative solution on a different model. The Charge 4 was not placed on sale for Mother’s Day. I have been waiting to hear from them before making a purchase. It looks like Customer Service is not going to contact me prior to the sale ending so most likely I’ll be stuck with full price. In this case I’ll make the switch to the Garmin or Nike Apple Watch. I hate doing it as I was an original Fitbit Customer going back to 2012 and love the app as well. But, flat ignoring a customer request for help, knowing full well this model has a known defect of cracking is wrong.

I have a cracked screen on my Fitbit Charge 2 also. I tried to do a chat, but was cut off. Tried twitter, no response there either. How do I get in touch with someone?

I went through Twitter and then through Facebook. It took them about a week and a day or two to finally email me this morning. They asked for a photo of my watch with the crack and support ticket number and I had to remove the band to show the small Fitbit Logo on one side. I’m waiting now to see what happens next.

I've been using this model since 2015...the best thing to happen to me since my weight loss of 65 lbs. I had the same problem...but thought it was some type of tech glitch...nope. stopped working Jan 2020. Idk. But I agree with you 100%. I LOVE this thing. Please help us. Side note...One of my Mother's day gift was a...Fitbit charge...4! Still missing my 2:(

Well as an update it was a waste of my time. They did nothing but offer me a discount on a new device - which the Mother’s Day sales prices were better. I went ahead and bought a Charge 3 special edition that would not hold a charge for more than 30 minutes at Best Buy. I exchanged it the next day but it concerned me because Best Buy will no longer sell you an extended warranty on these watches. Right after that I got the “we can’t help you” email from customer support. One of my posts on here was “modified for clarity” and another was flat out deleted and they said in a PM not to discuss issues of this nature. It really upset me so took my Charge 3 back and bought a Garmin Forerunner 45 which I absolutely love and am blown away by how much more it has and how much better quality it is - for the same price as the Charge 4. This post will probably be altered or deleted in some way too but I just can’t stand behind a company with ethics so bad they actually sensor and hide what they don’t want people to see. I hope you have better luck with yours. For me I’m done. My eight year relationship with wearing a Fitbit device is over. I’m grateful that this happened because I now have an amazing watch that I adore. I won’t be buying another Fitbit product ever.

I paid $119 for the Charge 3 Special Edition and took it back. I truly only paid $149 for the Forerunner 45S (I wanted the white one with a slightly smaller face Which is the “S”). They are on sale for this price all over right now as well as many others - some a little less and some a little more. The body energy, and stress measurements along with the fact that it will alert my family if I fall are awesome.
