Outdoor bike not tracked automatically

What do I need to do to get my Charge 3 track outdoor bike automatically? Walking is tracked, but outdoor bike isn't. Resetting didn't solve the problem.

Automatic tracking is never a sure thing, except possibly for walking.  Imagine just looking at your wrist's movement - could you be sure when you are on outdoor bike or not?  The way to be sure is to use the on-device Exercise App.

See How do I track my workouts with my Fitbit device? 

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
