My phone isn't listed as one of the compatible phones. I have been having trouble getting the heart rate to sync and suspect that is why. Does that mean I just can't use the heart rate tracking function? Because that's why I bought the charge hr

It's probably the reason although if a phone is not listed then it only means that it's not guaranteed to work, not that it definitely won't work.

Why not tell us what phone you have. If someone has that phone they may be able to tell you what works for them.

By the way, you say you are having trouble getting the heart rate to sync. Are the other statistics (steps, distance, calories) syncing to your dashboard?

Its andriod, ZTE Haven. Everything else is syncing fine and I can see the HR on the screen of the tracker but it wont sync into the dashboard

Have you tried syncing your Fitbit to a computer using the dongle? I would see if you're having the same trouble with that sync.

Are you able to see a heart rate when you look at your Charge HR? Or is it showing "--" instead? If you're able to see your heart rate on the band, I would say that the heart rate monitor itself is working fine.

Have you tried restarting your Fitbit and/or your phone?

Unfortunately the ZTE Blade isn't on the list of fitbit supported devices at www.fitbit.com/devices

Hi everyone and welcome aboard to our Community @JessMM and @timba. I wonder how it goes with your device @JessMM?.

I'm agree with @SteveH, some devices are not in the list of compatible devices but that does not mean are not compatible. Is just that we cannot guarantee that all the feature will work or it wont present any issue in the future as it has not being fully tested. Nowadays high end devices are built with the same core specification, so is hard to find a device which is not compatible and is rare to find a device which wont be compatible at all.

I have a mobile device that is not in the list of compatible devices, despite all the features works fine, sometimes it syncs my heart rate and other times only shown "--" as @kalimm mentioned before.

If you have further questions, I'll be around.

@RobertoME thanks for post.  one question -- do you know if there are any plans to, instead of the dongle, go away from the dongle and provide syncing capabilities via download (or upload i guess) via the usb connection?  I know some other companies do that, and it seems a good fix to some common sync problems.

I sync my Charge HR with my phone, but have another device that isn't compatible with my phone and so I just upload which seems to work fairly well.

Apologies if I strayed off topic a bit, but I think it'd be a great tweak if possible...

Thanks!

Hello @SunsetRunner and @Trafton, let me start by giving you a warm welcome to our Community!

@SunsetRunner The functionality of notifications can be affected by:

  • The mobile operating system version (Android vs. iOS)
  • The app(s) that the user wishes to receive notifications from
  • As it was mentioned before, the phone is not compatible.

Although it wont hurt to try the following steps from this post: My tracker isn't receiving notifications (Android Fitbit app).

In your case @Trafton, the same scenario applies for not compatible devices. However I always like to recommend to give it a try to our troubleshooting steps, so perhaps the following post might be of your help: Having trouble syncing? (here's how to fix this).

See you around and hope this helps.

Hi there @CJC03, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. Smiley Happy

Even though the Huawei P9 is not yet on the list of compatible devices, if you were able to download and install the app, please try the following in order for your Charge 2 to receive notifications;

  • Make sure the Charge 2 is not on the Do Not Disturb mode, you can do this by pressing the button on the side for 2 seconds, a vibration and a message will let you know if Notifications have been turn on or off.
  • Go to the Bluetooth settings on your phone and check if Charge 2 is on the list of paired devices. If it is, tap on it and select Forget/Remove/Unpair device. Then restart your phone. Afterwards, open the Fitbit app, tap on Account > Charge 2 > Notifications and enable them once again.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else.

I have an Alba phone on Android 5.1 my phone won't connect to my Alta.  Tried turning Bluetooth off and on

@TraceyNicholls it looks like you won't be able to use your phone to connect with your fitbit - there are no Alba phones on the list of supported devices at www.fitbit.com/devices

Do you have access to another phone / tablet or could you perhaps make use of a computer to setup and use your fitbit?

My old Alba 5" Smartphone worked fine with Fitbit, although on my new 4" one the app says it can't sync because the phone doesn't have Bluetooth LE (It's supposed to though)

This is so dumb. I got the first Pebble watch they made, and it was used. It went through two phones before me and two phones while I owned it. I never had a problem with it, till the screen died this year. I bought a Blaze to replace it, and It won't connect with my phone. Fitbit bought Pebble, and I though they were going to bring that quality of product into their brand. I have devices that I didn't spend but 10 bucks on and they work with any phone I through at them. So why can't my $200 watch do the same. Fitbit has learned nothing from Pebble.I am about to give up on the Fitbit brand. It's junk.

I have the Oneplus 5 and I have tried everything and nothing will sync... . Is this going to be a long term thing or should I be looking at another Fitbit.... Are there pending updates that will make it compatible?
