It has been several months now. There appears to be a lot of us waiting for A8 and A8+ to be able to get notifications on our phones. Is there an end in sight?

Hey @Yachtwillow, let me give you a warm welcome to the Community! Cat Happy To be completely honest with you, no, we don't have any updates yet about the compatibility of the Samsung A8 and the A8+, however I can't tell you either that it won't work at all. What I always suggest to the users is to try the troubleshooting for setup/sync/and fixing notifications in the following articles and posts:

- Why can't I set up my Fitbit device

- Why wont my Fitbit device sync

- How to fix the not getting notifications issue

On the other hand, please keep in mind that our team still working to add more compatible devices to work with Fitbit products, so please stay tune for updates about this.

Let me know how it goes! 😉

Have tried everything but nothing works. I couldn’t sync for ages too so thought that maybe you were finally bringing it onboard - but nope. I see that people have been waiting six months or more surely this is starting to become a priority? Most people here want a Fitbit to do ALL that it is advertised to do not just some components of it. I am beginning to suspect that there is a problem and you can’t make it compatible but instead of owning up to it you keep robbing us off with”try this” and “have you done this”. Seriously this ain’t a good look for the company so let’s be honest here - is there a problem? If it won’t be resolved soon what do we do?

I hope you are doin' fine @Yachtwillow! I understand how you feel about this my friend. I know has passed a few months since this phone model was released and hasn't been officially launched as compatible, but trust me, our team is working on this, the thing is that several phones are released very often, specially those that use Android as their operation system, so they take more time to verify the specifications and requirements (specially Bluetooth) to make them work with Fitbit trackers and watches, and because of this, we suggest the users to try some tips to make them work, because most of the phones still under testing, so we also ask the users to try because we need to know what other functions you can complete with your Fitbit. In other words, your updates are also very useful for us. 😉

I will appreciate your understanding!

This response was over a month ago. Is there no way to get a timeframe on this issue being resolved? It seems disappointing that I purchased a charge 2 costing over £100 and the fitbit connection is failing. Feels like a waste of money.

Hey @LCraik, I hope you are doin' great! Well, we as moderators, have not received any update about the compatibility of the Samsung Galaxy A8+ yet, and we don't have a specific time for this. In the meantime, as I always suggest the users, if you were able to set it up, but having syncing issues, you can try the troubleshooting steps in this help article: Why won't my Fitbit device sync? And see if it works! In addition, you can also try to sync your Charge 2 with a computer, either a PC or a Mac. Cat Wink

I'll be around so let me know how it goes!

Hello,
I managed to sync using an old phone which allowed me to then sync on the A8 with limited function. I later discovered doing that had caused my fitbit to reset to factory settings losing all my data and alarms. Now it says it cannot locate the charge 2 to correct this. I've had so many issues with this now I have given up on it being resolved and bought a different fitness tracker.

Thanks for your response @LCraik! Sounds odd that the data saved on your Charge 2 has been deleted y syncing it with a different phone model. This could have happened maybe if you tried to pair your Charge 2 as a new device and you haven't synced it prior that. But just by syncing, no. As I mentioned, since  the Samsung Galaxy A8 isn't compatible, a complete setup and syncing process isn't guaranteed. On the other hand, I'm sorry to hear that our products didn't meet your expectations and you have decided to get another Fitness tracker. But keep in mind that if you have any  other question about our products and services, you are free to letting us know!

Have a nice day!

I have been very frustrated with the Charge 2 failing to sync with my A8 phone. So I am intrigued to see that Oreo worked. What is Oreo??

Hi @MaryHM, welcome aboard! Yes, as I've mentioned, since the Samsung Galaxy A8 isn't yet on the compatible devices list, you might experience syncing issues between that and your Charge 2. Now about the Oreo, this is the name of the latest Android operation system update. For some users seems to work, but I can't guarantee that it'll also work for you. However you can try that out. I'd like you to make sure that you have the latest OS installed on your phone. In addition, if you haven't, you can try the syncing troubleshooting in this help article: My Fitbit device won't sync?

Hey @TRueckL, welcome, welcome! Well, we don't have an estimated date for this phone model to be fully compatible with Fitbit devices, so I won't tell an specific time frame 'cause we don't want to create false expectations on our users, however, what I can tell you, is that our team is always working in order to add more phones and tablets to the list of compatible devices so you guys can enjoy all the great features that they have.

In the meantime, I will appreciate your time and patience!

Its driving me crazy. I have so much stored data on my fit bit, plus use it az my silent alarm. The phone constsntly syncs snd flattens it in one day. Now i either have to get new phone or change fitness trackers
