Hi Fitbit team
I brought a Fitbit Surge a couple of years back and it cost around NZD$450 (USD$300). I live in New Zealand. I loved the functions and told loads of my running friends about it and many of them brought one also. Unfortunately the strap broke within 4 months. It was replaced and broke again, and the cycle continued until I was on my 6th Surge. Now I am out of warranty (12 months) and you guessed, the strap is completely broken off on both sides. I really like the functions of the Fitbit and have never used it in a rough or tough way.
I have some questions for Fitbit on this.
1. What do you suggest I do, I have no watch after having spent NZD$450 on one a couple of years back? Please give me some guidance, do I go and buy a Sunnto or Garmin type watch instead? Do I buy another Fitbit and run the risk I wash away NZD$500 (the price of them now in New Zealand).
2. What fix have you provided to all the other customers of Fitbit who are in the same position as me, having paid good money for a watch that lasts for less than 2 years?
3. What do you suggest I say to my running friends whom I used to rave highly about your product to (many who have had similar issues)? Shall I say sorry or should I say get in touch with Fitbit and they can help you solve the issue Fitbit created?
Really keen to understand what solutions you can provide me with here. Happy to tell everyone not to go near your product if that is your preferred approach however I wanted to give you the chance to respond in the first instance and get the chance to put it right.
Look forward to hearing from Fitbit soon.
Thanks and regards

6 fitbits in 2 years.
May I ask how you are charging it?
See this thread for charging best practices. If you are not charging it correctly you could be damaging the battery
