RHR rising very fast!

Hi friends, I’m hoping someone can help me understand this or has had experience with this. On 4/7, my RHR was 62. I have been running and exercising regularly since about January, and it has gone from the

mid/low 70s to the low 60s, which I was thrilled with. Now it has jumped back up to 76. I notice it’s only getting down to the mid 60s even when I’m asleep. I do admit to becoming fairly obsessed with checking it since it’s started to rise, so today I took the Fitbit off and will quit wearing it for a week or so. The only changes I’ve made that I’m thinking could be contributing to the rise in RHR is that I switched Claritin for Zyrtec at the beginning of April and I started taking collagen supplements a few days ago. I also have been on Noom since January and had lost about 15 pounds, but I’ve gained 4 pounds back over the last two weeks (Easter candy, ugh). My goal is to lose 20. Thanks for any insight you can lend. Have a great Sunday!

Hi @aegabrie   this is a question that is best suited for you to ask your health care professional. There could be many reasons for the increase in your heart rate, but this is a community forum and you could get many different responses and none of them be correct for your situation. Seems you've got a lot of changes going on, plus taking medicine and supplements. Congrats on the weight loss. I'm sure you'll get that Easter candy worked off in no time. Thanks. You’re right. This has happened before and I think it’s anxiety. I’ve worn a heart monitor in the past from doctors and also had ekgs. I think I probably just need to relax.

@aegabrie  I've noticed my heart rate increases when I'm worried or sick, but life brings all sorts of stresses. Take time to relax, sip on a cup of hot tea and think of whatever makes you happy. I would still check with your health care professional to be on the safe side. It's a stressful time for many people right now and these forums might offer you a place to go to forget those troubles.
