During the last two weeks my Charge 4 has changed for accurately recoding the number of stairs I climb to telling me I am climbing Mt Everest. When I walk outside, my Fitbit recorded the hills I climbed as Flights of Stairs, It usually recorded 10-15 for a walk, suddenly I am getting readings of over 100 for the same walk. Today it recorded 48 and I did not go on any hills and only walked up 4 flights of steps. I also noted that my mileage has decreased as the flights of steps has increased. I reactivated it, no change any suggestions. i know at times when I was in my house exercising and the winds were high and a low pressure was coming though some flights of stairs did show up, but not in the numbers I have gotten in the last two weeks. I have driven over mountains in that time, but that was never registered before because I do not swing my arms when driving on mountain roads.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @Linda050547.
I’m sorry to hear that you are having difficulties with your Fitbit Charge 4. Your time while dealing with this situation is highly appreciated.
Your Tracker may give you credit for extra floors for a variety of reasons. Devices may track floors while doing everyday tasks such as opening doors, driving, or riding elevators or escalators, or from abrupt weather and atmospheric pressure changes. Exposure to excess moisture can also result in extra floors. We recommend that you wear your device loosely during exercise.
By reactivating you mean following these steps?
For instructions on how to negate the extra floors from your Fitbit account, please visit this article and open the menu "How do I delete steps and floors in the Fitbit app?".
Regarding the issue with the mileage, you can set your stride length by following the instructions here in the menu "Can I change my stride length in my Fitbit account?".
Hope this helps.

I sent the message about my charge 4 recording too may stairs and you suggested that it could be from sweat, which I think it is, but I have a question about how the Fitbit reacts to sweat. It may be something that was never explored, but I would appreciate any information on it. I would like to know if there is any information on how the amount of sodium in sweat could cause a Fitbit to measure stairs when none were done or any other data. I just had a very bad experience with fluid intake and sodium levels, leading me to believe I am a salt sweater and if any of the information that my Fitbit recorded when I was on the hike could help me find out if I am a salt sweater. I would appreciate it. On the hike in question my Fitbit did register stairs I did not climb, and that I was in the cardio zone for over 3 hours. I would appreciate any information so I can change my hydration ways when I do long hikes and convince my physician I am a salt sweater and I need more sodium than most and not less. Thank you.
