Reminders to move not working

Hi,

I have been struggling to find out what is going on with my fitbit. I recently got it and for the first couple of days it reminded me to move but just stopped reminding me for the past 2 days.

I spoke to the help desk and they suggested I reboot the fitbit and turn the more remind off, but still its not working.

Did anyone have the same problem and is there anyway to get it to work again?

Maybe its faulty and I need to return it to the store?

Thank you

Christine

I was able to get them to work by plugging it in and resetting it by pressing and holding the side button until you see the Fitbit symbol show on your screen.

My Fitbit has been working fine since then. Make sure that your notifications are not turned off because that will stop your hourly reminders from buzzing as well.

If this doesn't work, maybe you can take it back for a new one or see if Fitbit can. Send you out a new one.

I have had my Charge 2 for several months, and the Move Reminder has worked well.   The past few days it has stopped.  I have read these column and reset it several times.  Turned off the reminder, turned it back on.  I have held the button to be sure Notification On.   The most frustrating thing is that I have to sit still for an hour  not do my 250 steps, and the carefully watch the clock so I know that it is 10 minutes of the hour, and no notification.    Big waste of my day.

What else is there to do to make the Move Reminder work?

@rainbow4abc,

If this was a hardware problem, I don't think so, I would say restart the Charge-2 3 times in a row.

Have you tried setting up the reminders to mobe through the web at https://www.fitbit.com/settings then doing a sync through the phone?

I'll assume you have checked that RTMs are enabled.

Some have found that by changing the clock face, some seemingly unrelated none working functions are fixed.

The only other thing I can think of is to do an add device with the replace function. Essentially replacing your Charge-2 with itself.

Hello Rich -- I was at settings and did set the message.  I don't know what "mobe" is.  I also do not know what RTM is.    Sorry,  since it has worked for 3 months, I assume those things are or were set.

Apparently, nothing is working now.   Help desk sent this:

I did these:

  • Unpair all other devices paired to your Fitbit account (In case you have them)
  • Force close the Fitbit app.
  • Go into your phone's Bluetooth settings and unpair every device that is currently paired.
  • Turn your phone's Bluetooth off.
  • Restart your tracker.
  • Restart your mobile device.
  • Turn your phone's Bluetooth back on.

And now  my phone does not find my fitbit   tells me no Bluetooth devices found.

I am a technical mess

Now I have no connection.

I am sorry that you are still having trouble despite your various attempts to fix it. Unfortunately, the only other thing that I could recommend is to call customer service. I too had to reset it numerous times but somehow my Fitbit has be reset and working just fine (for now at least).

Hopefully customer service can help you fix it or send you a new one.

I have the same issue. Trying the reset button and will let you know at 10 minutes before the next hour if it works or not. Was there a recent update? I am also having trouble signing in on my iPhone. It gets hung up and appears to crash. When I tap on Login again, it either freezes or finally goes to my Dashboard.

Someone else suggested holding the button down on the side to turn notifications on and off.  It worked for me.

If notifications are enabled on the tracker itself, then you will need to enable them through the app or website. If theyy are enabled tyere, tyen make a small change and sync. You may always change back later.

I just got my Charge 2 last night and move reminders aren't working. Text notifications worked once when I first got it set up but after that, nothing. In the app everything is set to be on.

I just received a new Charge 2 to replace a Charge HR. I have tried every troubleshooting suggestion noted in the forum threads and none have solved the problem. I've gotten in touch with Customer Service and my case has been escalated to a higher level. I am hopefully it will get sorted and eventually they'll work but I wanted to mention this here since I suspect there are many like me who have (or are considering upgrading) SPECIFICALLY for this reminders to move feature.

Mine had stopped working for over a week. Notifications were showing on on my app but not reminding me! I became really lazy this week, I read your reply, did what you said and bingo! Notifications was off on my watch. So thanks I'll be restarting my 10k walks 😊

My reminders haven't worked for me from the very start. I eventually got it to alert me when my phone rings or receives a text but I'm still not getting move reminders.

This worked for me. I had the phone app with notifications turned on and the reminder for steps turned on with days and times set but holding the button on the actual fitbit to turn notifications back on there was what worked for me. Thank you!
