Hi,
I have been struggling to find out what is going on with my fitbit. I recently got it and for the first couple of days it reminded me to move but just stopped reminding me for the past 2 days.
I spoke to the help desk and they suggested I reboot the fitbit and turn the more remind off, but still its not working.
Did anyone have the same problem and is there anyway to get it to work again?
Maybe its faulty and I need to return it to the store?
Thank you
Christine

Thanks Rich, didn’t realize I had turned the reminders off! But guess I did !!

Your method did not help me.
Finally what worked was: From the main screen of the fitbit I had unintentionally turned off the notifications when putting it in the cradle. Others might have done that too! just press the fitbit side button for about 3 or 4 seconds and notifications will toggle between on and off.
Good luck!

The reminder to move stopped working on my Charge 2. I tried turning it off and back on. That didn’t help. Then I tried the way suggested hereof plugging it in and holding the side button until the Fitbit icon comes on. The reminder still doesn’t work. I sync with the iOS app.

Yeah, that is exactly what I meant. I had unintentionally turned them off when charging my device. All is good now, and also knowing the cause I can prevent it too!

You just need to press the. Upton on the Fitbit until it reaches notifications. Mine switches off from time to time.

@Mosfet. the three posts above me have the instructions to turn notifications on and off
As for plugging in, this is the same as charging. Then hold the buttinbuntil it restarts .
This is all explained in the user manual found in help .
How do I restart my Fitbit device?

This suggestion of holding the button in worked for me! Thank you so much for sharing. It saved me so much time and effort compared to the other suggestions.

Hi,
I'm having issues as well with the motion reminder. It works most of the times, but regularly, at least once a day, no reminder. I usually miss the hour or realize I didn't move one minute before the hour end so doesn't have time to walk the 250 steps. Seems I really have to install an application on my phone to have an hourly reminder that will replace the non-working Fitbit reminder. I don't know what application will offer me that and seriously, I don't want to know because if I search, I know I will find a 10$ solution that will in fact cost me 15$, maybe even 20$, when I'll check my credit card bill, because that will be in different currency or something. Everything I purchased the last ten years is just flawed and requires patching or supplementing with a phone application or another device. This is just driving me insane. This is so frustrating that I am about to disable the move reminders completely.

I have the same problem-- my FitBit reminders work about 75% of the time-- but almost every day there is at least 1 failure It's very irritating. FWIW, I wound up purchasing an app called Due!, and I've set recurring reminders in the app. It's annoying to have to pay for an app to compensate for what my FitBit can't be counted on to do correctly, but it's a dependable workaround. Thanks, and all the best to you.

If 250 steps have already been counted in an hour the tracker will not give a reminder to move.
Also you may want to check the set hours for the reminder to move.

Same for me, at first. Even though I forgot to do my 250 steps, regularly I
wasn't getting the reminders. I don't want to need to install something on
my phone to replace that functionality, even less to pay for that. Then my
Fitbit started to bootloop last Friday and when it doesn't bootloop, it
cannot count steps anymore.

Have we got to the bottom of this?
So far I read:
1) Check if notifications is enabled on the fitbit device
2) Check if the "Reminders to Move" setting is enabled in the fitbit app.
In my experience, that still doesn't always work. And it happens on multiple fitbit devices. Is there any "smart" algorithm on the remind? I kinda feel that if I haven't moved for too long, it wouldn't remind me at all. Only if I have moved close to 250 steps that it would remind me. Is it true?
