Reminders to move should always give number of steps left

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I've recently just started getting into using the reminders to move. I like that the notifications tell me I need to get in more steps for that hour, but I would prefer that instead of silly phrases like "It's steps o'clock!" or "How about a stroll?" it would tell me how many more steps I have left to get in. Only occasionally does it tell me the number of steps I'm short, but most of the time it's those silly phrases. I would prefer to see the number of steps with every notification so I'll know where I'm at.

@pjfarr  I did a brief search of the Feature Suggestions and could not not find a suggestion asking for this feature.  Perhaps you could start one.  A Feature Suggestion needs votes and comments to be considered.  But that forum is the place to start.

@pjfarr Welcome! It's nice to have you on board! Like @LZeeW said you can check our Feature suggestions board and either vote for an existing idea or add your own if you can't find one. I found one that asks for this so feel free to vote for it.

Let me know how it goes!

Mine tells me how many steps I have left.

Or or it did, anyway. The whole feature seems to have stopped all of a sudden. I don’t get any reminders as of yesterday. 🙄

It does tell you on the Charge 2. Not in the message it self. But If you tap through on the main screen until you get to that Screen it says 0/250 or what ever is left.

@erika325Try a restart that should fix the reminder problem

Try a restart. Do it at least 3 times.

@AlvaroFitbit I believe the one you linked to is asking for this feature on the app dashboard. My suggestion is referring to the device itself. For clarity, my device will show the remaining steps with the notification but only occasionally. Most of the time it's just a phrase like "Time to move!" or whatever without the number of steps. I'm suggesting it shows the number of steps remaining with every hourly notification.

@WendyB  I don't seem to have the screen you're referring to.

@pjfarrIf you have a charge 2 you have the screen

I'm not talking about pushing the button in to cycle through. I'm talking about the main screen where the time is. If you tap on this screen and keep tapping you will eventually get to the 250 per hour screen

Nevermind, I figured it out. I had hidden that screen back when I first got the Charge2 to keep the number of screens I had to tap through to a minimum. I now re-enabled it and it's there.

@pjfarr  There are two Charge 2 clock faces that will help you for now.  One that I have used is called Double Stat.  It displays two of the measured items and can be customized.  To set it up from the app, tap on your Charge 2 icon, go to Clock Face, then Double Stat is the fourth clock face.  The example shows steps and heart rate.  Now go back one step and go to Customize Display.  Put  them in your desired order, but put Hourly Activity first or second.  Sync your tracker.  Now you will see your hourly activity every time you look at your tracker.

The other clock face is Hourly Activity and is farther to the right on the clock faces on the app.  It shows the date, time and hourly activity.  You can tap the screen to see the rest of your data.

With both of these choices, you can see how many steps left without tapping through many screens.

And again, changing the "silly phrases" requires a Feature Suggestion and a lot of votes.

@LZeeW

Thanks, I've been using the double stat option for a while already. I only wanted Calories/Steps > Distance/Active Minutes, so I disabled the other stats just to cut down on the number of screens to cycle through. At the time, I didn't know what Hourly Activity was (I wasn't using the reminders to move at the time). Now that I've just started to use reminders to move I'd forgotten about the stats I'd disabled. I re-enabled Hourly Activity and just have to deal with a third screen I guess.

I did post the "silly phrases" annoyance in Feature Requests as was suggested. To clarify, it's not necessarily the phrases that annoy me. I'd just like to see the number of steps included with the phrases (if we must have the phrases), as in "Time to move! 50 steps to go!"

Thank you very much for your advice.  I had to 'forget' my device and set it up again when I travelled overseas as it wouldn't sync.  Then I had to do the same when I came home and it wouldn't see my hourly activity on the double stat screen as it used to do when I first bought it a few years ago.  Now it's all OK thanks to you.  Bette T. 🙂
