Resetting charge 2 to give to someone

Please help! I gave my charge 2 to a friend of mine when I purchased a new one. She had no issues getting it synced up to her Fitbit account, however we have realized that whenever we are with each other the text messages I get on my phone still show up on the charge 2 as well as the text messages on her phone. I have removed the charge 2 from my account. How can this be fixed so that my texts are no longer showing up on the old charge 2??

Your phone's bluetooth is probably still connected to the fitbit.  Disconnect it on your phone.

The Charge 2 was removed automaticly from the account when it was set up to the new account.

The problem is that the Charge 2 is still connected to the wrong phone.

Welcome on board @Jms8151, it's nice to see you here! Everyone (@JohnnyRow@Aidanel0108, and @Rich_Laue) is right. Even if you have removed your Charge 2 your account, it also needs to be removed from your phone's Bluetooth settings.

In order to solve this, please go to the Bluetooth settings on your phone and remove the tracker. In the list of Bluetooth devices you'll see the Charge 2 and next to it, this symbol "!". Hit the symbol and it will take you to the next step, once you're there select the option that says "Forget this device".

@MarreFitbit  Thanks for good reference article to keep in my reference links.  I keep forgetting to check the Fitbit Blog for several good articles there.

Hello,

I have followed all the steps but am still unable to fully disconnect.  Any suggestions?  I'm not sure what else could be wrong.

I'm having a problem understanding the issue @CatAnya

Sync the Charge 2

Now go into your phones Bluetooth and tempo a the Charge 2 from the list of trusted Bluetooth devices.

Now do the following.

To remove tracker from your account. ( these steps are optional)

  • Open the Fitbit app
  • Go to account, by tapping on the top right
  • Tap on your Charge 2
  • Tap the Garbage can found in the top right.
  • Your tracker is now disconnected from your account.

Or simply setup the

Simply set up the tracker to their account.

  • hand the tracker over to the person your giving it too
  • Help them setup their Fitbit account.
  • Attach the Charge 2 to their Fitbit account.
  • Since a Fitbit tracker can only be connected to one account at a time. Doing this step will disconnect the tracker from your account.

@CatAnya   Agreeing with @Rich_Laue   Don't understand what you mean by "unable to fully disconnect".

To clarify,

What I mean is that I have followed these steps about three times. I disconnected the Fitbit from my account and bluetooth, but it still won't let my friend connect to it with there account.  I doesn't even sense it. It still let's me connect to it with my account; however, his phone can't connect to it. Do you know what could possibly be wrong? Is there maybe a point I am missing? Really appreciate the help thanks.

@CatAnya  It sounds like you don't really have any reason to think that you are not fully disconnected, but instead it is an issue of the new user not being able to get set up.

Without any specifics about what is happening, start by looking at

Your saying the issue is with the friends unknown phone. What type of phone?

Have you removed the tracker from your phones Bluetooth?

You could go another route.

On your phone. In the Fitbit app,

  • log out of your Fitbit account.
  • Log into friends account.
  • Install tracker.
  • Remove tracker from your phones bluetooth
  • Now when your friend opens his app, the tracker should sync.
