Resting heart rate higher since firmware update

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Ever since my charge 2 updated its firmware this week, my resting heart has been getting higher and higher within a 4 day periode. My resting bpm is usually between 64 and 71.

Only when i'm sick or during hot weather, does it go further up to 73/74. At the moment there's no hot weather, i'm also not feeling 'under the weather',

I'm now at 77, and even during sleep my bpm hasn't gone under 68 in 3 days. Now it's not a big jump up, but i'm still noticing it. And every time during the day when i check my charge 2, when relaxed and doing nothing, i'm firmly in the 90+ bpm. When i check my pulse manually, it's much lower. I don't have the wristband too tight or lose and i keep it clean.

Anyone else having the same experience?

I just had my Fitbit Charge 2 replaced via warranty (my old fitbit suddenly stopped synching and tracking HR during workouts) - Fitbit mailed me a new one (no straps, just the 'brain').  Since I've received the new Charge 2 I'm experiencing the same thing.  My resting HR used to be between 52-55 and now it's up to 64 - steadily increasing each day!  Say whaaaat?!  I haven't been sick, stressed etc.  I believe there's an issue with the replacement Fitbit mailed me.  Boo hiss

I am having a similar problem with my Fitbit charge 3. My rbm  was at 64 now has climbed to 67+.  I have woken up and looked and my rbm have been under 60. When I usually wake up it is around 60.  Not sure what the problem is hoping someone has an idea and can point me in the right direction.

This seems the case again with the latest update that rolled out last week or so. Since then I have on average 5bpm higher.

My FitBit Blaze is horribly inaccurate at steps, distance, and also my
calories burned — it underestimates everything! My past FitBit watch also
underestimated, and my friends just bought FitBits newest smart watch, and
it is also miles off being accurate for her. I’m done with FitBit.

So — what do I do? Well in the beginning of 2019, I bought the new Polar
Beats Chest monitor, where my phone gets all the information of smart
training with Polar Flow. I can see everything in real time from my phone,
plus it will verbally coach me on the different levels I ask it to. If you
don’t have your phone with you while you work out, that’s okay, because
when you are finished your workout, hit Bluetooth on phone and it will
download your entire workout.
Eventually I will buy one of their SMART WATCHES, because I am totally
DISAPPOINTED in any of the FitBit watches I have bought to date. Yep, I’m
done.
Sad FitBit can’t develop a better health product, because people need to
know what their pulse is when working out due to health issues; people
could actually die using FitBit watches!

I am having this exact same problem with my charge 3 ever since the update. I can be sitting still and resting and my heartbeat will be around 60 meanwhile the Fitbit claims my resting heart rate is 72?! A full 8 beats per min more than my pre update RHR.. tbh I feel like this has something to do with the update and the new premium features. I’ve had the charge 2 before and was so happy when I first got my charge three but now with this push towards premium and suddenly losing accuracy of my data after an update I’m considering looking elsewhere for my fitness tracking needs. I have reset the device several times and due to this issue arising after the latest update and premium was rolled out my money is on this being a software issue.. now the only question is: is this a feature or a bug?

Regardless of what fibs Fitbit claims, they have DEFINITELY changed the minimum Detectible heart rate, which affects the resting heart rate. The minimum heart rate is now 48 when it used to be 40 before the update. My charge 2 now flatlines when my heart beat goes below 48. I have a heart monitor implanted in my chest because my heart rate dips to the low 30s each night. Fitbit no longer records anything below 48 with the new update and conversely it chops off the peak heart rates as well.

Yes! My Fitbit iconic has made major changes to my heart rate ever since the update. It went from resting 64 to 67 and max at 72 when I was sick. It's been up to 80 resting granted I was sick and even now it says 76.

My iconic is doing the same thing but is not fixing itself. It has increased by 10-15 beats per minute. I haven't been sick and I even bought a new tracker I case my old one was going wrong. My new iconic changes resting heart rate every day it peaks at 77-80 then comes back down to 68. When I wake up my heart rate is 54 to 64 give or take. I depend on this technology to help with my weight loss. It's helped me lose 40lbs but seems to be very inaccurate after the update. So sad

Yes I have had the same problem. My heart rate can get into the low 60's or even 50's sometimes when I eat good whole food (not processed or junk food) and don't drink. Right after the update I had my heart rate as low as 58 but mostly in the 60-62 range when just relaxing or sleeping but it had my RHR at 69. I know it won't be as low as my lowest heart rate but not 11 beats higher. after all it is call a RESTING heart rate. I also noticed that my HR could go down when looking at the charts but my RHR doesn't drop.  This is very different from the past and I don't like it. I think they need a more consistent RHR to what the charts show.

I am having the same problem. My mine was consistently between 68 and 70. In the last four days it's been steadily climbing and is currently at 77.

This is exactly what is happening to me. I have a Fitbit versa light and my RHR has always been between 49 and 51. For two weeks now it’s been between 52 and 54 and I am not sick or doing anything different. It’s frustrating for those of us that really rely on these numbers.
