Fitbit charge 2 is a new band. My daughter and I upgraded to charge 2. Bought them in December. We're in Jamaica for a week February, doing nothing but walking the beach. Mine was fine in the morning when I was done walking my 10000 steps my screen was cracked down the center and along the bottom. My daughter woke up the next morning and hers was also cracked the same way. We didn't do anything but walk the beach.

I’ve been ok holiday for 10 days, the screen on my Alta HR was absolutely fine when I left, I’ve noticed today that it’s cracked, it’s not been banged I’ve been laying on the beach, definitely think it’s due to the heat.. the same thing happens to any cheep sunglasses I bring with.. bit disappointing to say the least

This has happened to me today. I have spent the day largely lying on a lounger by the pool but this evening I discovered the screen has two long cracks running from top to bottom. A bit gutted about it - in recent months I’ve got really reliant on it and it’s very much helping me reach my goal of better fitness

My impression is that FitBit is made by people that think $150 is a bargain and they don't stand behind the product. I disagree but nonetheless I bought one used from FaceBook Marketplace. Places like Wish are selling knockoffs for $25. I have a friend that is satisfied with his Chinese version. bought from a site called Banggood. Good luck to you.

You may be onto something Jon. Did you get your screen replaced?

Thanks.
Are Fitbit replacing the screens under warranty? And if so, how do I arrange this?

Had 3 replacements and all have cracked. After that I asked for a full refund, did not get refund. Went to credit card Co as used to buy the Fitbit, made a 'Rule 75' claim from them and got a full refund. 'Rule 75' is a mandatory requirement in UK for all credit card Co's which the card holder can use to get refunds for damaged / poor quality purchases etc...
Good luck, Jon.

Well here's a great one on holiday in Mallorca, relaxing and doing nothing by the way of activity.
Both mine and my wife's Charge 2 screens cracked within literally one hour of each other.
I am a design engineer by trade, and this can only be a design fault. The way they bond the screens to the body needs to be looked at desperately by the sounds of it. An aluminium alloy body will harden over time and will not 'give', so when it expands in the heat, the body holds it shape, pretty much trying to pull the glass like a Christmas cracker.
Softer bonding would be the answer, come on Fitbit?

I know these are older posts but the exact same thing has happened to both mine and my husband's Fitbit. Plus, mine was a replacement because the same thing happened to my first one. At present, Fitbit have offered us both 25% off another Fitbit product but to be honest I don't think that's acceptable and have appealed against it. There's obviously a manufacturing defect here. If they don't replace it completely I'll be buying a different brand, not another Fitbit that's going to crack in less than two year's time. These things aren't cheap!!! I've had crappy watches last longer!!!

This is now number two. The first one crack on a hot summer day while vacationing in Punta Cana in the spring of 2018. Fitbit blamed me.
i purchased a replacement a couple of months later and was very careful with it. On Tuesday here in Denver is cracked again. Not overly warm, but very sunny.
Each time it cracked top to bottom on the right side of the screen. Like one of the previous posters I am also and engineer. This is simply a design defect.
do I chance replacing it again?
